Yesssss! Neeeeeal! The good Neal!!!!

Before I forget... Martin made a slick little pass out of the D zone to send Neal on his way. Great play that probably doesn't get mentioned in the post game summary.

I thought Martin used his big frame to his advantage tonight. He was in there in key situations and despite pressure got it out smoothly. Very unflappable as always but better execution tonight for sure!

Finally! For once they gave Anderson a changeup. He had been reading shots well but he thought it was coming in hot and Neal waited him out just enough that he froze and couldn't get over in time. Great win.

Fleury with a save of the year entry and Maatta, Malkin and Scuderi recalled showed up too.

Solid game. Fleury made the saves he was supposed to and the pens should of had 3 or 4.

Thanks for the gifs!

Looking at Fleury's save in slow motion makes us think he had all this time to think and make the save....

What an athletic SOB

That was an incredible save. It was just a hard fought game all around.

Really happy they kept battling. It's frustrating when a goalie is playing that well. I gotta say I really like bortz game. He's a pain in the ass and has sneaky offensive ability. Stood in there with smith after he boarded malkin. We need more of that in the line up

Yeah I am happy too. I felt Ottawa was obstructing and holding a good bit and the refs just were not calling it much.

I agree. Errey was going off about turris interfering with Sid after a face off. Pens have to figure it out because I don't think it's going away.

That's what I was saying last night. They better get used to it. That looked like playoff hockey. I think it's largely been a theme lately with other teams taking away time and space.....it's been very effective.

We complain (irrationally, IMO) about losses to Dallas and Phoenix, but the reality is that the Penguins haven't lost back to back games since November 25th (OT loss to Boston). Teams lose games, but the great teams bounce back from bad results. I thought last night was a great bounce back game after the Phoenix game.

And due to the fact that the Blackhawks, Sharks, and Ducks are all struggling, the Penguins are currently as close to the President's Trophy as they've been all season. 5 pts behind the Ducks with 2 games in hand.

Particularly with Crosby. I'm not sure if he's tired or hurt but he looks to be struggling lately. He's still creating opportunities just not at as high of a clip as he was a few weeks ago. I love Gibbons effort on that line but they need an upgrade there and quick

Jim Colony made an interesting comment on the fan this morning in regards to Letangs illness. Suggested the possibility of a rash. Letang looks fine in the press box maybe there is something to this. Poor guy!!

Crosby needs another wing. Gibbons contributes nothing to that line and has no right even playing in the nhl. Time to pull the trigger and trade another young dman for a skilled forward. Just send despres to edm for hemsky

Not just because I'm wearing American flag boxers, I hope that Canada suffers an early upset and Crosby can come home early an get more rest.

Agree. Vanek not signing in NYI makes him available, Hemsky or Cammi would be good rentals that wouldn't cost the Pens too much. If they work out they could be resigned w/o moving Letang.

I'm with you on that. I can't wait for the Olympics but I hope Canada and Russia get knocked out early
