Be patient, there was this early issue with the... ...suspension
In all seriousness, I just hope he isn't a liability. If he can go out there and not have goals go in when he is on the ice, then he can be the Water Bottle Crusader, stumble around the ice like (frank)ing Bambi and float around doing Crazy Eyes to his hearts content. And this guys alllllll heart

I, being in the pessimist camp, don't think he will put up more than 35pts in a full season because he doesn't fit with our offense. |

if that line is only going to get 4mins a night it might as well be smithson
why (frank) with a young kid's development y limiting their ice time.. better off with marlies |

He needs to play the same role as JVR
JVR never produced much until he learned to park his ass in front of the net either
same goes for clarkson |

I'd say something between 35 and 45 is about what you'll get... with more or less 15 goals.
At the very best case scenario possible is the same kind of season he had in 2011-2012. |

i disagree. i think RC is using him in the wrong spot.
put him on kadri's wing with lupul and let him be the JVR of that line.

Now, if Clarkson was smart enough to get that , we would have 2 or 3 real good lines. |

I concur with this 100%
That said, I think we are in trouble tonight. The worst 4th line in hockey, and Jay McClement playing 3rd line minutes is a recipe for disaster.. See: 6 game losing streak |

top line winger for a bottom pairing d-man
usually those trades work the other way around for the leafs lol |

thats why i cut him slack.. he hasnt been able to find himself a happy spot in the lineup.. its there for him.. just need to find it.
wouldnt be shocked to see him slide into Kuli's spot at some point.. now that raymond is finally out of the way.. clarksons chance might be just around the corner. |

mcclement is fine playing 3rd line mins if the leafs stay out of the box.
when mcclement gets 3rd line minutes PLUS PK time.. thats when he is being used a bit much.

I feel ya, last trade that saw the Habs come up as a clear winner was the one who sent Craig (frank)ing Rivet to San Jose for a 1st (Pacioretty) and Gorges. |

Lots of that struggle time was without Bozak too. I guess it isn't that bad. Bozie and JVR 1st PK, McClement-Kulie on the 2nd.
Staying out of the box altogether.. not likely. It is Clarkson's first game back. Then again, Florida's PP is abysmal |

Best leafs trades in recent memory:
Beauchemin for Gardiner and Lupul
JVR for Schenn
A bit soon to tell but Liles for Gleason is looking good so far
I also think moving Lebda for Franson essentially was a bit of robbery. lebda was probably the worst Dman I have ever seen
Any others? |

Wendel Clark was awesome.
I'm still baffled that some people actually expected Clarkson to be that 20-30 goal scorer even if there was no indication that he would whatsoever. - Scabeh
I can't speak for everyone but I expect him to get close to 20 goals (15-20), annoy the other team like a Tucker or Marchand, fight from time to time, provide an effective forecheck and plant himself in front of the net for a screen, tap in or deflection. The type of fan with the expectations you mention above are few and far between. The thing is, I also didnt expect him to get suspended twice, had his usual injuries as expected, and hasn't played,or given the chance to play, much 2nd line or PP minutes. |

Whether we like Franson or not, he's still an asset worth some value. Not much, but worth a lot more than what we gave up...so it's a win. Let's say maybe a 2nd or 3rd and 5th rounder? I'll take it.
I also liked the Bernier trade and the trading of Versteeg (forgot what we ended up for him but it was addition by subtraction for me) |
