not hard to be a plus player on the pens feeding crosby the way he is going

give puck to crosby.. watch plus minus sky rocket

- Dozzer

But Sid is only +12 or something.. can't be all Sid either

You don't get a + on the PP, or a minus on the PK..

Pp and +\- do not go together

Exactly he leads the league for Pete's sake. Something is going right for him this year.

Sid only +12??? With the points he puts up that's not really very good at all.

Fine, but you can't be +28 and be bad in your end.
- bixll

you can when you never have to defend against scoring lines.

and when you are defending against their checking lines guess what forwards are out in front of you

kunitz, crosby, neal, malkin... etc

not exactly difficult to get your plus minus pumped up

think franson last season

great plus minus

think franson is good defensively?

- Dozzer

I don't give a rats ass about plus minus. Just pointing out his use of it (ie pp) is wrong

I dont see them moving Kule honestly. If they continue to build up a nice cushion in the playoff race they will use Kule as their own rental. Some people need to realize that this isnt fantasy hockey.
- lotempio8119

This is true, if he asks for too much in the off season than I guess you let him walk. In the mean time (IMO) he's a better alternative than any of the Marlies.

I'm not going to say that Niskanen is a world beater but he's better in his end then any of those guys are and has gotten better every year he's been in Pittsburgh. He's turned into a very solid defenseman on both sides of the ice. The Pens need a player like Kulemin too. It would be nice if the Pens could somehow get McClement out of there too but Idon't think Nonis is interested in picks.
- quinnjj

He's russian so I'm confused.

Did you mean wife beater or a world better

Varlamov joke. relax. I know its world better.

Well we all know Ovie defensively sucks thats a given. Crosby seems to get a lot of recognition for be good defensively as well. Just shocked his +\- isn't higher.

Doughty to Patrick maroon: man you suck at hockey. How long you been in the minors? Still can barely crack the 4th line.

Maroon: ok ok....

Hes not going to give you the 30 goals a year. i think we've all accepted that. But hes an effective player and could be used during the playoffs

i hear ya. Hes good defensively. Great on the forecheck. He not a liability. He knows his role. And just cuz hes not putting 30 pucks into the net each year anymore you dont want him on the leafs? i think we have 6-7 other forwards that can score goals for us. Hes a great piece to a puzzle. Idiotic to trade him. Let him walk after the year if you can SUBSTANTIALLY make the lineup better

Just send us a boring, non flashy, north American, mid to late 20's, stay at home defensemen who can skate better than Franson, and youcan have Kulemin or Franson for all I care.

this is just like franson last season

sheltered minutes and given a lot of offensive zone starts.

- Dozzer

But he plays a lot more minutes and doesn't exclusively start in the offensive zone. Nor is he an offensive defenseman like Gardiner or Franson.

i just know everything i heard about him reminds me of gardiner.. good offensive vision, strong skating, not great in his own zone.

the leafs need another gleason type guy
