They have a (frank)ing problem.

The fact Pacioretty doesn't produce without his sidekick, and the fact Eller can't elevate his game or even produce a single point in the last what, over 20 games is (frank)ing ridiculous.

The only (frank)ing guy that is reliable no matter what the circumstances is Plekanec.

- Pecafan Fan

Thats the crux, trading Pleks gets the best return but the team will suffer. Eller gets meh back in a trade but the hole isn't as difficult to fill on the team.

Was about to say the same thing. (frank), with these big fan bases the second you're on a team for more than 6 years you need to be moved for moving's sake.

Bad coach: check
Bad defence: check
Good goaltending: check
Offense: advantage Toronto

Teams are very similar.

Who do you guys replace him with? Galchenyuk under Therrien seems to be a winger (to be fair he has been a winger since his last junior season). Do they gamble hoping B. Richards is bought out and would be willing to go there? Hope Stastny makes it and give him a sack of money? Maybe Legwand, who will probably just be a more expensive Plek anyways?

Or they gamble that Desharnais with Pacioretty, Galchenyuk (at center) with Gallagher and Eller with (Guy acquired for Plekanec) would be good duos moving forward.

The worst move would be Legwand... so yeah, Legwand must be the plan.

Earlier today, the Canadiens sent Raphael Diaz to Vancouver for forward Dale Weise. This is a nice little deal for both sides, in my opinion.

I like the in depth analysis.

Who was Desharnais and Pacioretty other linemate during the first 20 games of this season and the last bit of last season?

Because it seems like they are not good enough as a duo and need to be a trio to be successful

Anyone who's seen Galchenyuk play centre for the Habs knows he's ready to make the jump, especially in a season that's clearly going nowhere.

Honestly, I'd have no problem trading Plekanec, Markov, and anyone else capable of generating a meaningful return, finishing out of the playoffs with an entertaining top line of, say, Gallagher-Galchenyuk-Pacioretty, and getting the highest possible 1st rounder. Because seriously, (frank) these guys.

Eller should be playing with Pacioretty and Gallgher, that way, we'd be 100% sure that the team goes from scoring 1 goal per game to scoring zero goal per game.
- Pecafan Fan

but our "goal chances" would increase x2

look, anyone advocating to trade Plekanec doesn't care about that question, because the idea of trading Plekanec is to improve the team 2-3 years down the road. you won't get a player of Plekanec's value in return in any deal so the smart thing would be to take prospects/picks. it's the only way you can trade him and get 100 cents on the dollar.

Fair enough. I'd honestly rather move DD and push either Pleks or Galchenyuk in a year or two in there and just leave Eller in the 3rd C.

When are they going to trade price? The way it is now, any true hockey fan cheering for the Habs know that price has been a flop, 7 years and counting and I'm still waiting for this star that Boob Gainey said he'd be, except if he plays any games for team Canada, even one's that don't count, the rest of the hockey world is going to see what a flop he really is and when we try to trade him, we might get a 2nd or 3rd. draft pick or maybe a goalie like red light Racicot, only because they share the same nickname!!
