Kinda surprised... I thought he would stay.
Don't hate him for it... it is a business, and he can choose where he wants to go.
Isles did everything right with him... let's see what the return will be now.
Too bad... I guess we beg Moulson to come back next year...lol. - jimmc7722
it sounds like we might be trading Moulson to LA after the Olympics... |

what a disaster deal by snow. they aren't gonna get back what they paid for him (top 5 pick, probably, and a top six forward).
if he turned down that kind of money, it's obvious that anyone trading for him probably won't be able to re-sign him.....he obviously has a team in mind.......so nobody is gonna give up much to sign him, relatively speaking.
how does garth snow still have a job? |

From what I've seen from Vanek as an Islander, I like him, but he is not worth 8 million for 8 years - NYI44
This
Vanek just did you guys a favor, He is immensely talented, but takes shifts and nights off... for that kind of money pass!!!!
They ll be able to move him for a first round pick and a prospect... |

Hey we got Stafford for you too???
supposedly Regier turned down Staff for Okposo at the deadline last year.. should we try that again? please! - JVince11
I've been against trading Okposo even when he scored 4 goals last year. Young power forwards don't come around very often and can take years to develop. Patience paid off in this case.
How about Bailey?

This is a statement made by someone who doesn't pay any attention at all to the islanders. Many always assume guys are hating being on Long Island. We have heard for years how JT would leave, Nabby would run out of here.. Weight couldn't wait to leave.. Every player who plays on Long Island if he is offered the $ stays. Period.. Never has anyone who played here left when offered a deal. - niteislander
you best believe JT is gonna leave via UFA if this sh!tshow continues for you guys.
i don't think JT will still accept the whole "but we have awesome prospects waiting to make the jump soon" excuse 5 years from now. |

That's fine. Still hurts for another big time player turning down a huge deal. |

Huh? Snow is the gm. Made a play for a elite winger and didnt shore up obvious areas that needed help when the guy resigning hinged on the team succeeding. Another snow blunder |

not necessarily. it could mean he just doesn't want to play with the islanders for the final 8 years of his career. |

They're gonna throw Crosby/OV money at him. He's going nowhere. The Islanders will trade every other player on the roster to retain him. |

Wang could have stepped in to replace the GM. Owner always has to take more heat since the Owner does not report to the GM. |

regardless, it's still gonna raise red flags for teams that are trying to acquire him, and possibly/probably decrease his value.
i'm not saying he's worthless, obviously they're gonna get some quality back for him......but i doubt they get back what they paid. |
