You claimed that with Vanek leaving the 1st line wouldn't even be a full first line anymore. By that logic the rangers must have 3 3rd lines. Makes no sense.

And yet they are in 2nd place.
Hmm- what would I rather have??

Yeah, I thought you were the only poop stirrer that we had to take responsibility for. You are a regular, so we can't disavow you. Jk.

They don't play the trap.. They play a 2 man forecheck puck pursuit/ possession game. You have no idea or credibility. Try watching!

The Rangers play more not to lose than to win.

That it happened twice is bad enough regardless and it happend to our same brilliant GM. What will it take for you to rip this GM? You cannot stand Cappy and yet you do not blame this GM? Why was this trade even made if Vanek was known to love Minn soo much?
- ses111

i 100% blame garth for keeping cappy...amac has to go as well but im pretty sure he will be by the deadline...what else can i blame the guy for? he is a severe disadvantage.

he took a risk on vanek by trading away moulson who either 1)they knew they couldnt resign bc he would get more than they want to pay 2) they didnt want him past this season...by getting vanek they had a free half season to try to convince him and show him that that 1st line could be top 5 in the league; THAT HAPPENED!! but if vanek doesnt want to resign then what else can garth do??

having said all of that, vanek still has to be traded and even with his value being "hurt" bc its known isles will trade him, it shouldnt hurt much bc its still thomas (frank)ing vanek; im not going to tear into garth about this deal AT LEAST until the full deal is complete...the last step of the deal will be known by march 5th, until then dont expect me to blame garth for taking a risk.

Low offer- You have no idea what you are talking about.
- rsmarro

The only way they were going to sign him was if they over paid. They had to know this. That's my point.

A regular agitator, who can be completely intolerable at times. But at the end of the day we tolerate you

Who is Blueshirts? I only ask because a Rangers poster using the Blueshirt handle somewhere in the name is about as common as the name Bob.

7yr 50mm for a 30 yr old player who while terrific in the offensive zone is a spectator in the defensive zone is overpaying.

I liked the Vanek trade but only if more was done to improve the team like fire the coach or improve the goalies or D. The Islanders have to go above and beyond to keep guys like Vanek. Letting the season fall apart and just saying "we have JT" is not enough. Just for my understanding, what will it take for you to say that is it Garth has to go?

dont get me wrong, the seat should be getting warm for garth...i think this vanek trade will be very telling in what the return is...i have to believe cappy will be gone.

Well said!
It time the Isles hire a credible GM.
Snow is a joke- always has been.
And the coach can only play the team he has- and it's not good enough.

Yes in a way I agree. But, market value for a player like him. If isles wanted to keep him, they needed to offer more than market value.

I would like nothing more for the Isles to turn this thing around. I have nothing personal against Garth and Cappy. As long as the team is good that is all that matters. A solid coach with this young talent could do wonders for this team and would make things easier for Garth and Charles.

i agree...i think it terms of most important to least important, a new/veteran/experienced coach who the players will fear is by far the most important.

its a pattern?!?!?!

smyth happened in 2007-- thats 7 years ago!!!!

that is a very slow pattern that you see developing.

- LetsGoIsles

Your IQ is going to start dripping out of your ears if you argue with those people- I almost forgot the other night. The bottom line is we have an asset that should bring us a goalie, and if we have a lottery pick, we don't need to give it up. Moulson would not have brought us what Vanek should- no way. Win.

If you cannot attract the top FA's, you try to improve via trade and smart solid FA signings not Regin and PMB and put your money towards hiring the best coaching staff possible. Charles and Garth do this and there will be very little complaints.
