And like 5-6 NHL camber players.
They are a 1 line team, soon to be 2/3 line team.
And let's all be honest here- Vanek will not get more on the open market, he simply wants nothing to do with that organization. - rsmarro
2/3 of our first line is better than any three players you can put on your top line. Seriously get lost. |

Isles cannot spin this in any positive way. You have a great young star with JT and plenty of Cap room and more good young talent on the way and moving to Brooklyn in year and still cannot close the deal with Vanek? Losing Smyth and now Vanek is a pattern. - ses111
its a pattern?!?!?!
smyth happened in 2007-- thats 7 years ago!!!!
that is a very slow pattern that you see developing. |

Chris Botta (@ChrisBottaNHL) tweeted at 2:42 PM on Mon, Feb 03, 2014: Told that Thomas Vanek is well aware he may be leaving $ on the table. He knows he may not get 50/7 from his teams of choice. - rangerdanger94
Vanek must really want to go to Minnesota. Icant see them signing Vanek to be a good deal for them. They already have hefty contracts being payed to a couple of players who are not exactly elite. |

That it happened twice is bad enough regardless and it happend to our same brilliant GM. What will it take for you to rip this GM? You cannot stand Cappy and yet you do not blame this GM? Why was this trade even made if Vanek was known to love Minn soo much? |

Offering Vanek 7 years / $50 mill is sorta a big lowball in my opinion. He will get a bigger offer in free agency. Again, if the isles were dead serious about signing him, they offer him 8'yeqrs/$60 mill. No team can touch that offer and that's what it would take to keep him. And they know it. The $50 mill offer is nothing but a PR move to make it look like we care. |

Yes- as clearly evidenced by the Standings.
At least you will have a good first round pick- no wait sorry, you traded that for a guy that wants no part your team (again).

What? KO and JT both would be far and away the two top scorers on the rangers. WHat are you getting at? STandings has nothing to do with it. |

It's dumb. Why would they offer the same as the Sabres? If the 7 year/50 Mill is true than it is PR just to say we offered a big deal and we have to trade him now. |

Taveras is a great player and I wish he was on the Rangers. But what's the value in a great line if your team is not competitive?

You claimed that with Vanek leaving the 1st line wouldn't even be a full first line anymore. By that logic the rangers must have 3 3rd lines. Makes no sense. |

you really are an airhead.
The Rangers are an above average team, but what value do they have if they don't trap? |

Or if the King is hurt or plays like crap. Every team has deficiencies, but I can guarantee if the Isles had a decent goalie and a better coach they would not be second to last place. |

They don't play the trap.. They play a 2 man forecheck puck pursuit/ possession game. You have no idea or credibility. Try watching! |
