Still, would have expected the Leafs to drop a mid-late pick in this deal. - Feeling Glucky?
It's a nothing deal and we're all already over analyzing the crap out of it. |

I agree. Tell me, who would the Oilers move at the deadline and get a good return on? - sanfordnson
Who said anything about deadline deals? Phaneuf/Giggy/Lupul/Gardiner were all acquired well in advance of the deadline. |

No way to know that. None of us saw the Lupul/Gardiner, Phaneuf etc deals coming. It's all up to GMs. It all depends who the others teams want and who they are making available. Though the Oilers are smart in that they aren't trading key pieces just for the sake of change. |

Smart, low risk move by the Oilers. They are seeing whether or not that guy can fill a 6/7 slot on their team and add some toughness that they've lost over the years. Fistric is a good example of a guy they should have kept. - therealagent
yep, if he can come back even a little bit like last year, he will be great for after the whistles in their end....he used to keep it clean for us last year and garnered lots of fans |

Sorry, but I'm not buying the simple explanation.
That wouldn't make a guy walk away from an NHL job for 2-3 years.
There's something more to the story.
I don't know what it is (I've heard rumours), and I believe he deserves his privacy.
But I don't buy the "his wife makes a lot of money, so he refuses to move" explanation. |

Over analyzing? Just wait until TSN talks about it for 30 minutes.

But just an innocent question if you don't care why the need to ban people just because they piss you off? - jribout
if they get in my face they're gone.
why?
because i dont want to deal with it... its disruptive to the board and i've extended far too much rope in recent months.. so now.. its over.
(frank) up and get in my face i'm tossing you. plain and simple.
you.. for example.. are approaching it right.. you arent chirping, but asking legitimate questions. |

I hope Fraser learns to skate then proves himself in Edmonton. He was great for the Leafs last year and I hope he can get more ice time. |

While I agree, why trade Fraser, and send Ashton and Holland to the AHL? It creates exactly enough cap space to take Bolland off LTIR...why take him off LTIR if he is not going to play? |

I have little doubt Mactavish would make a deal if the right one were offered or accepted. he is no fool. that being said, it's my strong opinion that almost every GM will be lowballing the crap out of him right now. There is always the possibility that the GM of a bubble team gets desperate of course. I just don't think it's likely. |

So if I'm doing the math right, we currently have 22 guys on the active roster (Bolland, Clarkson, McLaren, Smith on IR).
13 forwards
7 defence
2 goalies
Who comes up? - Atomic Wedgie
Mcclaren is off IR i think and Smith was ready and then hurt himself in the weight room. Perhaps Smith is ready. RCs aid he expected him ready last night, but unexpected off ice injury set him back. |

Hemsky to the Senators. THough the Buffalo/Ottawa connection might mean Moulson goes there instead. |

Then we can move forward with Gagner, Arcobello and Gordon as our top 3 centers. Great idea sure hope they do that. - sanfordnson
