I think he's playing 2nd line with Kadri and Lupul, but that's beside the point. If a team wants to pay you $2.8 and then hire a coach that wants you to play 3rd line - what are you to do? He's a 2nd line player - plus the leafs kind of flip 2nd and 3rd liners back and forth...not going to get a guy like him any cheaper than $2.8 IMO

There's not much he can do with him for a couple of more years. A buyout is too soon even after the end of next season.

I do feel Clarkson will be much better. Everything that could go wrong did.

Couldn't be any worse. I do think there is a lot of confusion with Clarkson...... Some expect 30goals, and given the salary and he did do it (once). But I think that if he was just "career avg" he'd be seen a lot differently. Currently has 3 g 8 pts, and both stats are basically HALF the career #/game. If he currently had 7-8 goals and 14pts I think that changes a lot. I think he's been a disappointment not because he isn't going at a 30 goal 60 pts pace, but because he's well below his career #. I didn't expect his to match his career high numbers (would have been nice ) despite what some trolls think Leaf fans expected, but I though 15-17 goals (which is his career avg) and like 30pts.

I like Kuli it's just that he's been converted into a checking winger under Carlyle and we need to make room for some young guys. Then there is maybe he wants to go back to the Motherland, I don't know. Let's trade him while the perceived value is high

How does a guy making millions playing hockey not be able to get properly fitted skates or know how to properly tie his skates??

false. as to fast part. Definitely not as strong, not even close nor as good offesnively. Probably not as good defensively either although D'Amigo is pretty good and ashton isn'ttoo bad either.

Kulemin may be faster, but not a lot. I wouldn't be worried about speed in that comparison.
