I just don't see it before then. They have next to no leverage and they're not going to get what they need at the deadline.
- sanfordnson

I guess guys like us will never know who is available and what the asking price is anyways. All we can do is speculate. No doubt Lowe is doing all he can to improve the team though.

So...Edmonton wouldnt mind taking Orr and McLaren for free, would they?

Trade those 2 bums, call up D'Amigo

I sure have.

Thats why I usually ignore them unless their names are LeafMan or Yeti(InsertNumbers).

And plus, some of their hockey "opinions" are just plain wrong and believe me, you dont want to argue with a ref about hockey because we all know what happens

- jbold

Just don't take it so serious, it's just a place to discuss opinions. We all think we are right ( I am right 99% of time, just so you know )

Id rather have Fraser have to step in, in a playoff situation, but that's just me.
- Bigzby

Well, Ranger wasn't trade-able. Have to work with what we have.

Also looks like the Leafs are still cap space short if they activate Bolland and send down Ashton and Holland.

So they'll still have to make one more move. Either risk sending Bodie or Smith through waivers or trade Kule or Raymond.

The frustrating part for some is that pissing off a moderator is not against the CoC lol

I however find Dozzer and Yeti to be fairly loose leashed so I have no complaints

- Bigzby

CoC 1: decisions made by moderator are final

so if i decide you need to go.. it usurps all the other poop on the list.

you dont have to like it.. but its how it works. technically pissing off a mod disrupts the thread.. which.. happens to be CoC 7

basically.. i can ban you and no one will do a damned thing about it

cheers

I'm not sure why Edmonton does this deal. It's no massive win for the Leafs or anything...

But even if neither of those guys ever plays a game in Toronto, shedding the cap space is a win.

Apparently it could be for the Olympic break, so they can play for the Marlies during that time.
- jbold

We play the sens panthers lightening and canucks before the Olympic break. I think we should hang on to them. We can't send them down after the Canucks game?

lol a lot of people in toronto make more than ranger.. remember... he only makes 1 million

cant remember where i heard or read it.. but that was the gist of it.. for him to return to hockey he wanted to be close to home because his wife cannot move.

- Dozzer

Really? Allot of people make more than 1 million/yr in TO?

Anybody know what number Teemu Hartikainen will be wearing Saturday night against the Senators?

I'm about to go down to RealExpensiveSports and get me a Teemu Hartikainen jersey.

they dont need to.. keep the kids on the marlies with ice time.. hold onto ranger as the 7th man.. no need to carry 8 d-men.
- Dozzer

Oh I agree they don't need to, I'm just the type that likes giving a guy a trial game or two here and there. Never know what you'll uncover. By no means do I want them to do to Granberg what they did to Holzer. But giving a guy a Josh Leivo type call-up, I'm always open to.

THough I feel for a guy like Ashton, hard to leave a good impression with 3 minutes of ice time.

Brennan is Kostka 2.0.

We dont need another offensive dman who cant play in his own zone

- jbold

We could use a defenseman who can get the puck out of the zone with a little more creativity than slamming it up the boards though lol

MacT. Katz made it painfully clear that it's his show now.

20 trades in the NHL this year. Mactavish has made 7 of those. He's trying, sucks the mess he walked into though.

Draft...July...same sort of thing really. Point was they won't make a major trade before the deadline. No point.
- sanfordnson

I assumed you mean July as in Free Agent signings....which is just

Ifs goons are staying, than they should do more than just warm the bench.

You're right, no point of making a trade mid-season. They're in line for another lottery pick and nothing will make a big enough difference this year. Evaluate everyone throughout this season and make a big trade at the draft..Prob will have to move Yak or Eberle for any significant return tho. RNH and Hall should be untouchables and Gagner they won't get a very good return for.

Bodie is GREAT..... bench Orr for gods sake....he is 99% useless out there and a liability...anyone see him attempt to clear that puck? almost caused a goal

and Fraser is done after this season as well.

Whole thing strikes me as two teams clearing roster spaces. Edm a guy that KHL bolted and TO a guy that simply got played down the depth chart. Abney was included to keep Edm at 48.
