The Kule-Clarkson debate to me is silly because most look at it too simplistically. Let's compare them:

Goal scoring - Advantage Clarkson. Last two years he's been a 25-30 goal guy (on pace last year) versus Kule's 10-15. Numbers show a larger difference here than reality, but what is underrated is that Clarkson scores more JVR type goals, Kule doesn't. I'd prefer the diversity of Clarkson there, we have enough 'skill' guys.

Intangibles - Wash. Kule is probably a tad better defensively, whereas Clarkson is better at cycling and hitting and all that fun stuff some people think is now irrelevant (its not). For me again, we need a guy who can feed possession a bit more to help free up our skill guys, versus a defensively sound guy.

Special teams - Advantage Clarkson. Most of you will flip out reading this, "Kule is money on the PK?!". Sure he is. Who cares? If we keep McClement and Bolland, we have those two and JVR and Bozak. Why do we need another? What we need, is grit and net presence on the 2nd PP. More useful to the team.

Hence why Clarkson is a more useful Leaf IMO.

I assumed that he thought RNH was also a winger.

Wow. You guys are both remarkable human beings. Two Leafs fans agree on a preference of one Oiler over another and you lose your shyte.

I didn't notice that little ditty from him.

It's true though, and a lot more substantial than KHL bolting worries with pretty much no basis in fact.

- sanfordnson

You mean like the claim that being a Tatar will prevent him from going KHL?

This is where evil things can occur. You're right though, it's not like we watch them play a lot or anything.

Oh Lord, must I do this again?

You will never be able to "prove" that there is a risk of him going to the KHL.

So you are just going to have to bare with me here while I quote from the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident.

Young Ruskie who is not making as much as he would like, playing on a terrible team, and getting grumpy with what he believes to be bad treatment by his coach.

Yeah, no risk whatsoever. He's an Oiler for life.

He did not. He scored 76 goals playing with Lafontaine as a 24 year old.

As a 20 year old rook he was a ppg player, also playing with a 1st line older NHL centre.

Also 92-93 was not clutch and grab. It was wide open and free flowing. Tons of goals. Clutch and grab became predominant in the late 90s.

MacKinnon > Kessel or Reilly > any other leaf

Your math is sound. I concur.

Kid is 18 and playing with Talbot and Mitchell. Got his 19th and 5th game winner last night. He is going to be one of the best in this league.

I said it was a factor, which it is. Nail referenced it himself once. If you would like something unrelated to the point you've chosen to fixate on however, he moved his entire family over here as well. I'm sure that means nothing though.

Pretty words and a nice picture. The entire KHL flight risk thing with Nail is what it is: complete supposition, almost always brought up by other teams fans. You guys have fun with that. If he does, hey you were right. If he doesn't hey, I was right. Life goes on. Kum-bay-yah.
