He was one of the most talented players of any era, he should have been better, but he didn't take hockey serious enough. He'll admit that. - mykokes

Thank you friend. - AdamFrench
William H. Bonney, also known as 'Billy the Kid' continued to ride, never leaving New Mexico. He was caught in Fort Sumner by Sheriff Pat Garret and killed. Sources report that he was unarmed, and shot in the dark. He was buried with Charley Bowdre at Old Fort Sumner. Advices report that sometime later, an unidentified person snuck into the graveyard and chiseled an inscription. The epitaph read only one word... 'Pals'. |

Sometimes you just gotta love Hockeybuzz.
Almost as good as the argument last night from Cooshie: since 1990, the Sabres have been a better franchise than the Oilers.
Sadly, he didn't really say much when it was pointed out to him that the Oilers had a pretty good 1990. - Atomic Wedgie
He spazzed out pretty good last night

I'd love to be able to bench 350.
It would make the hugs I give that much more wonderful. |

How?? - burn
He's on the team and there still winning. Clearly doing something right. He's a plus player while he's been in the line up and not hurt. Proves it there. If he was that bad he'd be a negative |

I didn't notice that little ditty from him.
It's true though, and a lot more substantial than KHL bolting worries with pretty much no basis in fact. |

Obvs. The better question would be does SJ? - sanfordnson
So tough, I would say SJ flat out refuses but that's because they are so high on Couture (and they should be). But when you look at the deal....
RNH > Couture
I know that many SJ fans will disagree but Nuge has a much higher ceiling, is a great no.1 center despite his young age. Add to the fact that 3 years of being Thorton's no.2 guy will do wonders like it did for Couture possibly making Nuge even better.
Burns > Schultz
This is the main reason SJ passes. RNH for Couture out right is a question mark just based on chemistry and his play (even though I would do it in a second). To take this loss on the exchange makes it easy to refuse.
I can see SJ doing it if they got another incentive, maybe something like:
RNH, Schultz, Hemsky(at half price)
For
Couture, Burns, 2015 conditional 2nd*
* conditional on Hemsky resigning or SJ making it to the SCF.
Or something like that, another piece for the cup run for a conditional pick.

How could I? I was buried next to good ol' Charley. He who married that nice Mexican gal. I think French was the one who added "Pals" to our headstones. |

The Kule-Clarkson debate to me is silly because most look at it too simplistically. Let's compare them:
Goal scoring - Advantage Clarkson. Last two years he's been a 25-30 goal guy (on pace last year) versus Kule's 10-15. Numbers show a larger difference here than reality, but what is underrated is that Clarkson scores more JVR type goals, Kule doesn't. I'd prefer the diversity of Clarkson there, we have enough 'skill' guys.
Intangibles - Wash. Kule is probably a tad better defensively, whereas Clarkson is better at cycling and hitting and all that fun stuff some people think is now irrelevant (its not). For me again, we need a guy who can feed possession a bit more to help free up our skill guys, versus a defensively sound guy.
Special teams - Advantage Clarkson. Most of you will flip out reading this, "Kule is money on the PK?!". Sure he is. Who cares? If we keep McClement and Bolland, we have those two and JVR and Bozak. Why do we need another? What we need, is grit and net presence on the 2nd PP. More useful to the team.
Hence why Clarkson is a more useful Leaf IMO. |

RNH hit a pretty good groove in his rook season also. Curious if you'll feel the same way if a sophomore slump hits. |
