Would Mogilny still do that today? Highly doubt it.
- sanfordnson

he'd likely get more

his rookie season was back in the day of clutch and grab hockey

mogilny was an all time great.. yak has a long ways to go to prove he even deserved to be talked about with him in the same sentence.

i am sorry.. but its true.

agreed. Yaks looks like Semin at most right now. Hints of being a sniper, lazy on the defensive side of the puck, and very very VERY streaky.

... Aaaaaaand could potentially be a KHL flight risk down the road if he is forced to EARN his next contract.

yakupov is not mogilny like. alex scored 76 goals as a rookie.
- therealagent

He did not. He scored 76 goals playing with Lafontaine as a 24 year old.

As a 20 year old rook he was a ppg player, also playing with a 1st line older NHL centre.

Clearly you don't see what kostaks doing in Chicago. Helping the best team in the league, il take that. But gardiner or Reilly have to be hurt for that call up
- langer420

He's been a revelation in those pivotal 9 games alright...

Sure thang

36 3 5 8

44 8 8 16

48 15 9 24

48 7 16 23

80 30 16 46

70 7 21 28

82 12 6 18

82 30 27 57

Totals : 246 60 36 96

vs

244 52 72 124

Now one has crazy eyes, the other is on the top PK unit for three straight years.

- AdamFrench

I didn't say their careers. I said recent years. Stop making this into something it isn't. Also one guy fights more. In addition Kulemin saw a ton of PP time for us with Grabo and Mac and Clarkson also can kill penalties, but is better suited on the PP in front of the net unlike Kulemin.

a line of Raymond, Holland and Clarkson could produce quite a bit of offense giving the Leafs 3 attacking lines.
I'm not counting on Bolland being back to speed before march he may need a few fourth line games to start out.

- ky678468

it'd be great if they were able to send him on a conditioning stint in the AHL. Not too sure how that works, but I know after long injuries that can get some time in the AHL to get back up to speed. I believe max me allowable is 14 days on a conditioning stint

Clarkson is here until the end of time. We need to start giving the guy more minutes, in the hope that he can get the motor running better.

- Atomic Wedgie

His motor runs on intangibles.....about once every 6 or 7 years.....guess we just hit an off year!

me too..
it's an interesting debate. be interesting to see results of a poll if that very question was asked. i'd take the game-breaker eberle everyday all day before rnh.

- Rockhead_37

An interesting debate, yes. I don't necessarily think the Oilers have to move any of their young stars. Maybe they have to be patient and keep adding to the core group of youngsters.

No it wasn't. His 76 goal season was the highest scoring season in NHL history.

He could score 26 less and be a 50 goal scorer as a rookie. Has Yak scored 50 yet in the greater part of 2 seasons?

Last 3 seasons, and a much neater and accurate comparison:

Kulemin 162 games, 22 goals, 45 assists, 67 points

Clarkson 164 games, 48 goals, 30 assists, 78 points

I'll take the guy who scores more and fights on occasion than a guy who can't score but can PK, and not all that well either.

Didn't you know he's an ethnic Tatar!? He'd rather have his limbs pulled from his torso by horses than ever play in the KHL

Never in his career...ever. So BUNK.

As to the idea of their careers, four seasons, I added the extra one which had Kulemin's ridiculous skewed 30 goal year, because Clarkson's 30 goal skewed year is identical in their one timeliness. Clarkson saw PP time with Kovalchuk, Zajac, Elias, (frank)ing Parise, so good on him for producing, good on Kulemin when he had his chances too.

Kulemin is better than Clarkson and it will suck when we lose him for this overpaid icon because he can defend the sanctity of waterbottles with his mouth since his fists were occupied grabbing his cash piles at the time.

Not even close my friend. Teamu did the 76 thing as a rookie. 99 had 92 one year.

(frank), seriously, what I was trying to say was the 92/93 season was the highest scoring season in NHL history. Not Almo's 92/93 season. like 10 guys had 130 points.
