The reason why everyone hates the Leafs is because you guys act like the darling franchise of the NHL. You guys think that all of your players are world beaters and anyone who says otherwise is an idiot.

Daley would look great in a Wild uniform IMO
- TomKlassen

I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Wild sweater, but at what cost? I wouldn't be willing to give up a prospect or pick for him. Straight up player for player trade and maybe a mid to late round pick tops!

I had two separate Leafs fans today tell me Bernier is the best goalie in the nhl and I'm an idiot for thinking different. One was here, which is expected, another was with a guy in my hockey pool.

Uhm... Yakupov was a first overall pick in 2012, it's not like it's out of the realm of possibility that he becomes a superstar

Just said he was better than Luongo.

Are you suggesting Luongo's the best goalie in the NHL?

Like most players do when first coming into the NHL, Yak just needs to learn team play. The skill is undeniable when you watch him play. He'll be an excellent player in this leaue, mark my words.

Every player immediately pans out or is a bust, dontchaknow?

Look at the Sedin twins, they weren't much better than Yakupov at their respective ages.

Hell, they didn't show they were more than 2nd liners until 25... and they played on a much better team than Yakupov.

Nope, not at all. But, Ummmm, so far he hasn't done much of anything to indicate he's a budding super star on the rise. In fact he's done more to the contrary.

Obvious Homer is obvious... No need for further name calling. It's simply too easy. Besides, last time I checked this isn't an Edmonton blog...

At Yakupov's age, Parise wasn't even in the NHL yet.

Think we can hold off on calling him a bust for a few more years?

Not saying he's not going to be a good player, or possibly an elite player some day. I was simply alluding to the the fact that one can't even suggest that he may not end up being that player without Edmonton homers calling you an idiot for even having such a preposterous idea, yet they can make a blanket statement about Leafs fans being the most hated in the league?!

If people are going to be speculative on any level, it's a good policy to allow others to do the same without calling them idiots or otherwise.... Are Leafs fans the most hated in the league? Maybe. Will Yakupov be the next great one? Maybe. Nothing definitively accurate about either of those comments though. So we are still left to mostly pure speculation.

I understand full well. Just find it flawed when people mock a youngster before we really get a chance to see what he's capable of.

And there's no denying he's got a ton of skill.

Mind you, reading back a bit, I don't mind letting his head explode a bit, so carry on.

WHY ON EARTH IS NILL TRYING TO MOVE TREVOR DALEY
- OilerFanFromBC

it's 'cause Eklund is an alien dude.......

oh and he wants goofs like us to read his ridoncolus trade rumours, respond , give him hits .... and thereby place worth against his existence.....

other than that, Dallas has no reason to trade Daley, nor will they.

Oh wait, you have never developed one

So I guess you never heard of Marion Gaborik? Unfortunately for the Wild, they've never spent time at the bottom of the conference let alone 4 or 5 straight seasons in order to warrant 3 straight first overalls, so for the most part you're right, but really pretty irrelavant to any true hockey fan.

That's like saying any NFL fans outside of New England or Denver don't know what a super star QB looks like.

Good try though! Not too many barbs an Edmonton fan can throw that will actually stick.

Just because we finish at the bottom of the standings doesn't mean we don't know what TALENT is in the NHL. To say Yakupov hasn't done anything to suggest he will be that level of player is just ignorant

So I'm ignorant for my baseless speculation, but your baseless specuating that Toronto fans are the most hated in the league is, what, intelligent?!
