Decent topic.

While imo you don't really need to be a speedy team to excel in this league, It really helps when you have that threat at your disposal. Having the knowledge that your d-men can also win some races, instead of purely relying on positioning also helps in initiating the play, and controlling the game. As opposed to simply being reactionary.

The D will have their hands full with the talent they will be facing in the next few games. Should be fun.

I agree. Skating always helps, but it's not a necessity and shouldn't be used as an excuse.

Ideally, you'd like to have at least a few forwards and defenseman who are above average skaters.

Now I agree with you, I'd love to see him back one more season.

And just a few weeks ago I thought, no more then 3M.

Now I think that won't work and he'd walk. 5M might be reasonable.

OTOH if this is his last year I would like to see him go to a team at the TDL for a run at the cup, if the Flyers fall out of the playoff race.

I'm sorry to do this hear... I'm not looking to sympathy, really, I just need to Fume or I'm going to flip out here at work.

I just got a call from my wife, and she told me she has cancer. She just found out and she was really broken up.

Of course I want to rush right home to be with her, but my job is so short staffed, they dont have anyone to cover the phone calls, and told me I cant go home. This use of stats does not prove that a Flyer's defenseman is a slow piece of useless trash (as opposed to useful trash), and therefore is completely inadmissable.
