Let's have a look this season. |
|
|

I think in march we will see a good run of games. By the time we play the ducks at the end of march and beginning of april that series of games will potentially set a tone for the playoffs. If we are in the hunt. |

Only guys up front that we can look at are Jensen and Grenier. The rest will be playing in junior longer than the Canucks. |

We'll probably still nail down 7th. I hope Hamhuis barely plays at the Olympics. More importantly, I hope Sweden and the US bow out early. |

I hope my prediction doesn't hold true - anavar
It will be Shawn Mathias for 2nd and Corrado. Royesque.
Then we will have 6 bottom 6 centers.
Santo, Richardson, Mathias, Dalphe, Shroeder, Lain
This will be surrounded by our collection of bottom 6 players.
Booth, Higgins, Hansen, Sestito, Weise...

On a positive note I wonder how much better Hank will look when he's healthy. |

That was quite the "reset" - LeftCoaster
It's not like a reset can take place within an offseason or two.
It's not a rebuild on speed—it can take just as long, it's just not as drastic.
You guys all laugh at "the process" like it's some cliché, but that's exactly what it is...
This season was always a throw-away. |

I wonder why they don't bring up any more younger players just to shake up the locker room a little more. Sit a Kelser or a Daniel. That will send a message. - thundachunk
Probably a combination of not wanting to "roll over" and not wanting to disrupt progress on the farm team. |

He shot twice last night. I think its Fosco's fault he has Danny in his fantasy line up bad luck. - thundachunk

My low expectations strategy is working, I'm maintaining an even keel with a wry sense of humour. This season is playing out pretty much how I expected. I have high hopes for the near future if they keep drafting like last summer and a few more deft FA signings. |

According to Gillis so was last season with the lockout and shortened season. So that makes 2 straight "throw-away" seasons? I like some of the things Gillis has done but he has to be on the hot seat if that's the case. This UFA class is pretty weak and with all of the NTC's it's not an easy task ahead. |

I don't have high expectations nor are they low. This team has a lot of potential to move forward they will be alright. Just have to keep it realistic and not let our expectations override common sense. Sarcasm and humour is what keeps me from losing my $hit at times. Being a Canucks fan has always been easy for those of us who are glutens for punishment. You won't see my jersey on the ice anytime soon. |

So if he is in the hot seat who the hell do they bring in to replace him? Is there a better guy out there right now?
I need to let this season play out before I jump off the MG train. Good and bad he has done more good than bad and that is a fact not an opinion. |

No arguments from me.
I already said that if he doesn't make a few bold moves in the offseason MG should be replaced.
I just find the drama pretty ridiculous considering the season isn't playing out too differently than the expectations in the offseason. |

They were/are both seasons in which the club has been handcuffed financially. It should come as no surprise to any fan that saw the cap drop that this has happened. |

Yeah, I'm pretty much on the fence with him myself, I want to see if he'll actually be able to get anything done this summer and have the balls to make a shakeup/risky deal that involves a "core" NTC player. I just hope that he's not going to be looking for another "buy low" like Booth(a good possession player on a bad team that isn't efficient and is on the decline).
I like the drafts better than the Nonis/Burke days for sure. No more "wtf" 1st round picks, although I was not a fan of the overage 2nd rounders. I feel like drafting some of he younger players in the later rounds leaves more room for growth(literal and non-literal).
