Look on the bright side: the athletes are at greater risk of dying on the airplane ride in to Russia than they are of being killed by terrorists.

Feel better?

- Atomic Wedgie

don't talk about dying on an airplane, i'm flying to Tampa on tuesday

Im not going to lie. I would rather team Canada blowed up than the American team. (frank) you if you dont like it. (not you booby, im just speaking in general). There, I said it. Im a Leaf fan first, team Canada fan second. I am not ashamed. Deal with it.

I like AP media briefs, too.

They're pretty much what all the news stations use as a basis for their stories, before they layer on their bias.

- Feeling Glucky?

the picking and choosing of stories, the obvious bias.. the half reporting of something.

networks out of the west (mainly the US but its not as if others are guilt free either) use the news to advance their own agenda. its become pathetically obvious as well.

Julie.

The only blogger to ever get so upset at me, she told her mother.

For years, I tried to get Esplen to get that mad.

Never could.

Sigh.

Because they don't give a (frank) what blows up or not in Dagestan?
- 1979AD

even if it's government or police or military targeted?? Find that hard to believe.

I'd suggest that "they don't give a (frank) what blows up" isn't the sort of thing the Olympics wants to hear.

No kidding... Just read a book about what NorthAmerica was like in the 19th century. If we were only 100 years younger we'd be killing each other for fun.... civilization is a pretty new thing.

There's a simple reason why terrorism is popular... it works.

Terrorism itself is a biased word, anyways. "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter"- just depends which side you're on.

Guerrilla tactics(neutral term!) work because they're so hard to stop. Guerrillas can disappear into the general populace in a minute, and they force a response that almost invariably claims innocent lives. The outside view is almost always of a superior power further oppressing a disadvantaged group, and our instincts to side with the underdog kick in.

Ive gotten Yost pissed at me many many times. He's actually pretty easy to rattle, if you're willing to take a break for a couple of hours to a week.

Ohh it's probably better... but there is no way in hell you can rid of opinion when you cover that much information.
- HipHopisDead

watch it. you will see what i mean. their reporting is almost robotic.

it also helps that the stories arent being covered by one culture. its not just muslims reporting, its all facets, people who were just tired of big money controlling the news.

watch it for 20mins. you will see what i mean.

Gus K ended up doing something with TSN. But man his blogs were so heavy in stats and numbers it felt like reading a (frank)ing math book.

Best blogger ever on this site was Kevin Gibson.

- weirdoh

Kevin Gibson is the stats guy for TSN. I don't think Gus ever did anything for TSN.

The sad thing is, he didn't seem aware they were jokes or didnt care, but tried to write up a serious picture of the Leafs team if the fans were running the show. Im still confused as to what he was trying accomplish...
- systemtool

I think the goal of it was to make fans look foolish....here is the team "YOU" want.

except that the immediate and prolonged result against a "terrorist attack" is almost 100% of the time further unification AGAINST the group doing the attacking... which is theoretically the opposite reaction the group is looking for.
