The point was that Burke did pretty well, whilst Fletcher sucked balls.

(Burke had/has his (frank) ups too, but he did more good than bad in general)

- AdamFrench

Yepp, we're going to miss Burke in a couple more years I fear more than we do now. Guy got the organization pointed in the right direction, I think a few more years with him he would've gotten us far. I don't have much to complain about with Nonis though, outside of Clarkson.

Grabo may technically be a win at the moment but if Greg p turns into a solid 5 or 6 dman then that trade could become a wash
- MTL1

Meh, Grabo is a very solid 2nd line centre (minus last season and the stomach virus or whatever). Unless Pateryn really goes nuts it's still a win (despite the buyout...darn Burkie you were really poop at negotiating contracts)

That 2nd turned into Robert Lang
He played great until he got his Achilles cut
Burke had to go trade back for that leafs 2nd from Chicago to have the threat of an offer sheet on kessel

The Leafs actually beat somebody above them in the standings. Rare..
- bixll

Bernier kept them in it. What save on St Louis.
Kadri finally using his hands...nice goal.

Gleason....prior to the trade, when it was just a rumour...I was like meh....but Im really liking Gleason...good pressence...good experience.

That second turned into Jared Knight...aka better than Kadri until people finally shut up about the Kessel deal.

And that trade with Chicago was for Jimmy Hayes now a 4th liner for Florida who sucks at being on the fourth line...which prompted beforehand Chicago to draft Jimmy's bust of a brother in the first round.

Totally agree.
I would also like to see Gleason, really have a good go with someone, to show that the Leafs no longer need a goon, or 2 taking up cap space.

Ya clarkson was Nonis first splash...that has completely backfired.
I can still remember everyone on hear raving about his intangibles over the summer....good times.
He still has 6 years to improve..

I dont miss Burke's cockiness, foolish predictions or his stupid self imposed rules...christmas trade freeze, no contracts longer than 5 years etc.

Had Burke learned to STFU...he might still be GM.

Would love to see the Argos play outdoors at BMO, might even attend a game.

Completely agree. Orr has no spot anymore on this team.
Maybe keep Mac....but both? Forget it.

Nowadays you need a tough, skilled mobile 4th line.

I've been very impressed with Gleason. Before he came here I was worried myself, but man has he proven me wrong. Heart and soul guy, plays sound defense and he even knows how to get the puck out of the zone. I think the Leaf players are finding him quite valuable too, Bernier and the boys surrounded him like they lost a brother in war. Seems like a guy making quite the difference in the locker room and on the ice. Throw the "A" on him next year.

Agreed. Why play short handed when your 4th is on the ice..
