They still have enough talent to surprise you now and then, but they are in full-blown decline. They are the Leafs around 2003.

They can either start restructuring their team, or try to make some foolish moves to postpone the inevitable (ie. Owen Nolan, Brian Leetch, Ron Francis).

They managed to fool people last year with a decent first round playoff performance that made people forget they barely got in.

They still have enough talent to surprise you now and then, but they are in full-blown decline. They are the Leafs around 2003.

They are going to have to confront the reality of trading them. I'm surprised more hasn't been made of this already. A couple more losses closer to the deadline and it just might become a bigger story.

Zetterberg especially just has too many miles on him. I love the guy, a total warrior, but he's just played too many hard minutes for too long.

Nah man. Big difference. Toronto was a Cup Contender in those days. I think they were a top 5 team in the league that year. Detroit is battling for last playoff spot. I loved those moves they made at the time.

You should have went with the 2005 and on years, with names like Allison, Lindros, O'Neill, Blake etc
