I was speaking in relative terms.

I don't think anyone played that off like it was nothing at the time. It was a shocking event, precisely because people didn't see it coming.

I don't follow..... 9/11 didn't impact the decision for salt lake. That decision was made years earlier. Unless you are of the opinion that the IOC should have stripped the games from them Months before and moved them elsewhere.
