My girl is 11, so this poop is around the corner.

Are you her facebook friend?

It won't help prevent everything but if someone posts some poop about her publicly, you might intercept something and be able to help her with that.

Hopefully she never has to go through that.

Schools in general are failing the students with this issue. But I have a hard time blaming teachers because they aren't respected or paid like Doctors, despite having one of the most important roles in the development of an entire nation's workforce. Blaming the internet for bullying is shortsighted imo, but it's definitely the evolution from physical violence (which is now zero tolerance).

It all falls onto the parents. There's always that one kid that's pretentious as (frank) or gets away with everything at home. More often than not, those were the Richards at school in my experiences. Nobody here is blaming the internet and social media. It's just a massive weapon now and is pretty dangerous in these (frank)'s hands.

Mine is 13, boy 15, girls are worse at that age. No problems for us yet.

I don't have facebook, nor do I have friends.

We talk everyday about these sorts of things. Same with the boy. But you make a good point about being on it.

I dont think anyone is blaming the internet for bullying, but we're finally becoming aware of it and the impact it has on kids.

Didn't mean you guys on here, but anti-bullying coverage and comment often makes the world wide web out to be apart of the problem, or at least that's my perception.

I also think the parents of the kids who are doing the bullying have to try and monitor their kids online lives, and step in when they see their kids posting anything negative...

To take it off tangent for a bit. The only thing the world wide web has caused is a complete desensitization for me when it comes to masturbatory aids.

Exactly, Parents need to understand that the things said online can hurt, and it is their job to try and make sure their kid doesn't get bullied or doesn't bully others.

You can't get aids from masturbating. You can go blind, but you don't have to worry about aids.

Kids are already avoiding facebook etc. because of the parents, and the fact that once something is posted, it pretty much lasts forever.

There are services out there that specifically allow you to send messages/images to each other, but they are not persistent, and are deleted within a few hours..still enough time to cause some damage, but now evidence of who started it etc...

Good man

I was the science nerd... who just so happened to play on three high school sports teams. While my wit usually took care of more problems than it caused, I was able to deal with other problems that arose.

Definitely, that and nothing on the internet is real. Seems like 85% of what you absorb from the web is nonsense. News, photos, stats, information... anyone can make up anything, which makes for the biggest clusterf_ck the world has ever seen.

Bretty Favre and Anthony Weiner wish it was invented a couple years ago.

Also, if you should decide to send pics of your Anthony Weiner, be careful, because the image may auto-destruct after a set time, the recipient can take a screenshot.
