He got 'smashed' 2 days in a row and decided he was going to chirp your jogging suit again?

Also, Nike jogging suits are dope and all, but 3 days in a row!?

- 1979AD

1st day it was my attire.

2nd day was my attire and hockey skills in gym class

3rd day he actually female doged slapped me walking down the aisle of desks before class.

It was just constant jokes and antagonizing. It was really my only experience with bullying ever.

Both of my daughters rock the two-piece cotton jogging suits. Jacket and pants.

Damn, am I jealous. They look so darned comfy.

It's unfortunate that only tween/teen girls and Mafia Capos can get away with it.

Post a link, or get out.

You don't get my hopes up on something like that, just to then tell me you were lying.

I like how you handled it

This 'anti-bullying' thing is getting out of control these days. Now if anyone says anything negative about anyone, they're labeled a bully. I think we should tie in teaching kids how to have a thick skin and how to stand up for themselves as part of the anti-bullying education.

The sad part is, half of it is online bullying which is something I never experienced as a kid. That part I dont understand or can relate to.

I was bullied in grade school. Got into many fights. I always stood up for myself. I vowed to completely change for highschool and did. I ended up more "popular" than the "popular" kids who ended up at the same highschool as me. I agree, to a certain extent. If you're being bullied, suck it up and do something about it.

Getting out of control? (frank) sakes, kids would rather kill themselves then go through what they are going through. Calling somebody a name isn't doing the labelling, it's the constant daily abuse that goes on and on. Nothing to do with thick skin.

It's not the same now as when we were kids. I got picked on because I was a dirty half cast. Admittedly that all changed when I hit my growth spurt.

edit: spur or spurt?

It's the online thing, and how fast and easily it allows things to spread to so many people. All kids make mistakes and do stupid things, the unfortunate thing these days is how many people are exposed to your mistakes/short comings and how many slam you daily for it.

Oh man, tough choices.

Do I get these, or rock the Zubaz pants?

Unfortunately, I'm not morbidly obese, so neither of these products are going to fit me.

But you have to admit, I'd look darned cool rockin' the Zubaz at at Leafs game.

It's gonna be tough for our kids, that's for sure. I worry about it. I wouldn't know how to handle that online poop to be honest.

My brother is a teacher.

He says the difference is today, the stuff never goes away or is forgotten. A bad photo of you can stay with you throughout high school.

I have a son, 2 years old. Im not ready to deal with all the online crap they do, most of which I wont know about or have any understanding about. I don't even have twitter or facebook. Im also going to have a hard time not beating up anyone who (frank)s with my kid, and try to be a mature adult about it. You're bang on buddy, it's going to be tough for our kids and us.

I totally agree with you - the constant taunting and in real life and online is a huge and serious problem. I'm taking nothing away from the poor kids who have to go through that.

Because of that unfortunate reality, bullying has become such a 'buzzword' that simple chirping is now considered bullying and kids are taught to go run and tell somebody about it. If we teach these kids to have the confidence to let that poop slide off their back, and/or give it right back, we'd be better off, IMO.

Now adays what they say is zero tolerance.

Kid gets bullied and punches the bully.

Suspend both kids, because fighting is bad.. Problem solved

That's exactly it. And that poop spreads like crazy. Makes hard to have any friends or want to show your face in school...makes every day a nightmare. And as kids, the tormentors are as ignorant about what they're doing as the victims are about how to deal with it.

I know sometimes people say "you have to be a parent to your kid, not a friend" but that just makes it harder for your kids to talk to you about their problems.

Schools in general are failing the students with this issue. But I have a hard time blaming teachers because they aren't respected or paid like Doctors, despite having one of the most important roles in the development of an entire nation's workforce. Blaming the internet for bullying is shortsighted imo, but it's definitely the evolution from physical violence (which is now zero tolerance).

I dont think anyone is blaming the internet for bullying, but we're finally becoming aware of it and the impact it has on kids.
