Connor Brown - UNREAL!!!

The kid just keeps racking on the points:
48GP, 36Goals, 64Assists, 100Pts, +35

Is this kid for real or a future AHL star?

I get weary when I see the stats and not see anything about his games. But holy smokes that are some impressive numbers.

That's my point, we bought a guy to play second line, stir some poop and play in front of the net on the PP.. SO let him..

With McDavid and Fox on the team, those numbers are inflated for sure. But by how much? We'll have to wait and find out!

yeah, I would like to see him play just so I can gage if he is actually dominating while on the ice or just beneficiary of high scoring team/teammates.

Wish there was more write-ups on his season.

He's the second most notable player on the ice most nights, although I've only watched a dozen of their games. Some nights the Connors are untouchable. One of the most fun tandems to watch in any league.

Realize one game is not enough to make an assessment...but the one that I did see, Brown was the player that stood out, and made plays happen. He had 1G, 1A that game. Played PP and PK as well.

McDavid was pointless, and even scored on his own net. He was floating the whole game and waiting for the play to come to him, and when it did. It died on his stick quickly. I was not impressed at all with his play.

Now I realize that he is younger, and likely was being checked closer, and will give the benefit of the doubt that it was an abnormal game...but if that was the only game I saw of him...he would not have even been on the radar...

Play him on the PP then. He led the Devils in PP goals last year and was 2nd in PP goals the year before that.

The problem is that our team loves to pass the puck 25 times for every shot they take. Maybe more shots and less passes will get you more use out of Clarkson. A guy who has a nose for the net is only useful if pucks are getting to the net.

I agree that he could use some 2nd pp unit time but being on the playoff bubble isn't exactly a good time to try new things when you are what.. 3rd-4th? in the league in PP%.

I have read that when he isn't playing with McDavid, he has actually been more productive (which is bizarre).

If it could potentially improve your team, why not?

We switch up our lines all the time... I dont see it being a super risky move swapping Raymond or Kulemin with Clarkson on the second PP unit.

Hey Doz, is there any way you can get the URL to the one I left in the nhl or rumour forums? Those ones are better than the one in the Leafs forum

Not hard to imagine, as he wouldn't be facing as tough opposition.

Actually, no...because it was when McDavid missed about 10 games, so he Brown would have been facing the toughest opponent lines.

Find it funny when people say Malkin is better than Sid, even though Sid takes on the # 1 pairing every night, and the top forward line as well.
