kulemin for depres? not that the leafs need any more Dmen, but i'm dying to see kulemin on geno's wing. still makes more sense than this stupid kadri talks. pens dont need him, and they don't have anything tradeable that the leafs would want. |

Leafs will not trade Kadri to the Penguins unless it is a huge trade with big pieces going to each team. They are conference rivals and like it or not, Kadri can be a game changer and would certainly haunt the Leafs over the future. It's not an impossibility, however it's highly unusual for conference rivals to ever trade big pieces to each other. |

Going to sure be interesting to see if the Avalanche make any moves before the trade deadline. Do you guys think that PA is the guy to go, or do you really think they could move oreilly? Him and duchene have been so good together this season would be sad to see that broken up

For a team doing so well when so little was expected THIS YEAR....

They could still upgrade on d I think but yeah I'd be surprised to see anything drastic. I don't think ROR moves until the offseason, if at all.
Re that Bourque-Paranteau rumor from last night and the debate over who said no - I'm guessing it was Colorado because I know which player I'd rather have for the next two years (their contracts aren't that great but are only $700K difference in cap hit.) |

Kinda like How all 5'5 French speaking Canadians want to play for Montreal eh?
Or sit in there here press box - 1theNex
They only want to play here once their careers are all but finished, so naturally we play them 15+ min/game.
Oh wait, you wanted me to get all bent out of shape, didn't you? Dang. Next time, I promise. |

No Matgter what the Leafs do, they didnt trade for Scott Gomez , pay him $7 il per, AND ship Ryan McDONAGH to New York as well..Nobody akes worse trades than Montreal.. - jillann
Less not forget, the Leaf traded their 1st pick overall to NJ for Tom Kurvers. That picked ended being the 3rd pick overall which was Scott Niedermayer. It could of easily been the 1st pick but they traded for some veterans from the Nordiques which helped them move up the standings. That gauranteed the Nords the 1st pick Eric Lindros.
Toronto trades Kenny Jonsson, Sean Haggerty, Darby Hendrickson and a 1st Round Pick in 1997 ( Roberto Luongo) to the New York Islanders for Wendel Clark, Mathieu Schneider and D.J. Smith.
Toronto trades Tukka Rask to the Boston Bruins for Andrew Raycroft
Toronto loses Gerry Cheevers to the Boston Bruins in the Intra-League Draft
Toronto trades Bernie Parent and a 2nd Round Pick in 1973 (Larry Goodenough) to the Philadelphia Flyers for a 1st Round Pick in 1973 (Bob Neely) and Future Considerations (Doug Favell) |

the only part of that you can use as an argument was the rask for raycroft trade. most of us could see rask was the better goalie after he won best goalie at the juniors while pogge had the way better supporting cast, except for of course jfj.
the others all involved picks, which could end up being a star or a flop, too much uncertainty. for example if the leafs trade kadri for a 7th round pick, do the leafs lose the trade? yes. what if the 7th round pick ends up being the next datsyuk? do the leafs win the trade? no. they got amazing value for the 7th, but they could have gotten much more value than a 7th initially.

Yes, but when the picks you give up end up being at the top of the draft... |
