I really wish Berube would return to the line combinations that worked for us in the past and considers changing up the 4th line that is a horrendous collective - 33 playing against weak competition:
Rinaldo - 12
Hall - 15
Rosehill - 5
Raffl - Giroux- Voracek
Hartnell - B. Scenn - Simmonds
Read - Couturier - Downie
McGinn - Lecavalier - Vandevelde
A lot more emphasis should be on overall team defense just like when the team started winning games a few months back and when Mason was stellar and stealing games for us. |

Kulikov over thinks everything he does. You can see it every time he makes a bad pass, or misses the net, or turns the puck over.. he lets it effect him the rest of the night. He can be an amazing player in this league. He is young with tons of potential. BUT, the system here has changed since his arrival. Tallon love the big North American boys on the blue line. Kulikov just doesn't fit the mold. - Panthers88
Sounds like he needs a better coach to bring him through it. Maybe a change in scenery. |

You can shuffle a deck of cards as many times as you want, but you still end up with the same 52 cards.... |

I see we are coddling the 35 YOA VL and bumping him up to 2nd line center bc clearly he's earned it while shifting B Schenn to his ineffective wing spot. Clearly this is how you grow and groom young talent - Just5

I'd take him on the Flyers.

True.
If he leans on Kimmo and Coburn too much
(Above 22-23 minutes) they get exposed too.
But 8 and 32 have stood out as particularly bad recently.
No real solution with the current group.
But there are things to try.
Luke with Kimmo,
Grossmann with Coburn.
Or Streit as a 4th line wing and PP point.
This seems least likely to happen. - Marc D
I'm with you. Things aren't working, so Berube has to change things up. The results will likely be re-shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic, but he has to try.

True, but I'd take A-K preflop over 7-2 any day. |

You can keep your A-K preflop as long as the flop is 7-7-2 |

But I'm with you, shake the lines up like crazy and hope something sticks.

Trade coming ?
Homer:
"Right now, it's getting to the point where we need to see what we have, see what's out there and make a move if we're going to do it."

Oh goody a trade that wreaks of desperation. 50 cents on the dollar. |

Happy I sold my tickets. Only wanted to really go to see Datsyuk play. I think he missed the last game in Philly as well. He may not have played here in the last 5 years. |

Typically there arent any Panther fans in the crowd either. - youarewrong
I'm not getting into the crowd debate. All I can and will say is that this organization deserves everything it gets in terms of crowds because of horrible management we have gone through. I don't care what fans of other teams do. I don't care who sells out when.
We've gone through 12 years of owners who had no money to spend. We now have one worth over $1 billion. All I can say is that he will hopefully right the ship.
At the end of the day, I'm there every game and that's all I care about/can control. |

Absolutely. Only problem is he is rumored to be KHL bound at the end of this season. |

I agree. We see plenty of bad habits lately, the decline of puck support and overall team defense and a more run and gun style hockey. Going back to what made the team have success and to the lines that showed chemistry would be a start. I also think it's time to switch up the D pairings. |

Yeah, Homer's fighting for his job right now... but glad to see him still insisting that any trade needs to make sense both for the present and future.
Frank's an idiot, but he does have something right... if the Flyers were to miss the PO's in consecutive years (last time was early 90's), Homer's out the door on his ass. |

I don't care what management does: When you have season tickets starting at, what, $4/game (plus a free jersey), and can't sell out, that's bad. That's cheaper than an NLL game or Div. 3 college football game. |

I agree. But at what point do you just oust Homer? Do you let him make a trade and just HOPE it's not a desperation deal to save his own ass, or do you just hand the reins to Hexy now to limit that possibility? I truly do believe Holmgren, but he might end up deluding himself. |

Welp, the city of Miami does, at least, have one of each of the 4 major sports leagues represented in their sports portfolio.
Which is more than, say, Buffalo or Pittsburgh can say.

I think the Chairman feels enough loyalty to Holmgren to give him until the end of this season.
I feel like, in recent interviews, that even Homer sees the writing on the wall, in some ways. |

Miami doesn't have a baseball team. They may have a baseball stadium where 18 men play a casual game of baseball from time to time, but they don't have a pro team.
And it's nice that they allow the opposition's fans all of the tickets to Dolphins' "home" games in Miami. That's very sweet of them. |

My money would be on Snider letting Homer finish the year out -- then fire him right after the last game is played.
The only way I see Homer saving his job is them making some kind of run in the PO's... barely making it and getting ousted immediately probably wouldn't even save him. |

Or, if he can make a move that dramatically improves the team in the foreseeable future. |
