Columbus loses and Carolina is in the process of losing

No one is going to run away with this thing. Tampa, Pitt and Boston are the only ones who are locks.

I hope Mason can build off tonight. He had some issues with rebound control early, but he made quite a few huge stops and looked comfortable for the first time in awhile.

Need him to bounce back, great way to start the Bataan Death March stretch of schedule ahead

first regulation win in what seems like forever... I think this is suitable.

My 3 stars:
1. Giroux
Everyone from Ed Snider to the popcorn vendor knew the Flyers needed 2 points tonight and the Captain answered the bell. He was by far the best player on the ice.

2. Hartnell
Kept his feet moving, went to the net and buried his chances. When he plays like this he's an extremely valuable player

3. Mason
Made some big saves throughout and handled the puck really well. Great to see him have a game like this heading into a tough road trip

- BiggE

Agreed -- a game they almost had to have, and they won it. Really good to see Mason get a shutout. Though the Wings' lineup wasn't the best they've got, you gladly take the two points and move on.

Agreed. I hope Grossmann can build off tonight too. Some bad penalties but he played hard, was in position, and was wreaking ball out there.

Exactly. I was trying to explain this the other day when the sky was falling. Columbus was hot but came back down to earth. The Rangers were hot too. Washington has been terrible but will probably get hot soon as well.

Grossmann was solid tonight. The first penalty was a bit dumb, had one bad turnover, but did good work to erase it and honestly his second penalty saved a goal.

My grandmother is best friends with his sister. They always joke about him changing wives so often. My grandmother laughed when I told her he has a penchant for changing head coaches quite often as well.
