A few months ago, 60 minutes did an expose regarding how the construction contracts were rewarded, the cost to convert Sochi into a area able to hold the event and the alledged corruption involed..... Putin is nothing more than a Mob Boss. - KINGKENZO
I'll jump in just a little because its somewhat related to hockey (Olympics). Putin is no saint, and I will not defend Russia. I just find it really interesting how much negative press they are getting in the media lately. Being attacked for the increased spying on citizens, monitoring of social and personal media devices.
Yet when the good old U-S of A does it, or Canada for that matter its all fine.
Something is really funny in the world when Justin Bieber being arrested or the Grammy awards gets more coverage than say the protests in Ukraine, etc. People think propaganda, or distraction tactics aren't used by their own "governments"? |

Without getting too crazy, or off-topic for the comfort of most posters here - it's not by accident. That's all I will say. |

Easiest way for this crew to gain some confidence and get back on track is for a return of "above average" Mason.
Not a shot at him, but damn was he fun to watch when he played at that high level. |

Oh I understood you... but still... somehow if he is snarky here, about hockey and politics... then somehow there might be snark in the str8 edge.... lol Nice catch, even though it was inadvertant. |

I could give 2 poops if the government spies on me through social media. I hate that crap anyway and I have nothing to hide. It's also a given the government spies on people in many ways, so if you were shocked to learn about that... wow. I'd be pissed if the government wasn't spying on people. |

Yes, its all for "our safety". I'll give you just a quick idea. Lets say for fun, that the protests happening in Ukraine, there were some people in the States that wanted to protest (peacefully) against class inequality. How quickly do you think it would take for the arrests to happen? Or any other protest lets say.
Its all just a wonderful ploy to make sure the masses don't get any ideas of "a better life". Fear is a wonderful tactic. |

Yes, because since A is related to B, and B is related to C, A is related to C. Fantastic analysis.
You are opinionated on politics. Which means you're opinionated on ponies and rainbows. |

I do have opinions on Ponies and Rainbows.... I like rainbows and it upsets me that if I want to put one on my car everyone will think I am homosexual. And I dont like ponies... they have no function other then making little girls jealous. |

Damn right. Not that way now is it?
Or are we still of the belief that voting in a different political party is a sign of big changes to come. They are all the same, and the quicker people realize that, the better.
Anyway enough politic talk for me. |

Id be satisfied with 4 points in 4 games. It makes tonight a must win though. |

(frank) these guys. Flyers will beat Detroit tonight and win 2 out of 3 in Cali - KINGKENZO
2 out of 3 in Anaheim, LA, and San Jose? Custer had a better chance at Little Big Horn. |

I think they know that. I am not a fan of Berube lately, in particular the player management decisions. Hopefully he pulls them back a bit, they need to close that gap between forwards and D. It will hurt the offensive game, but what can you do I guess. |

So what do you guys think of Kulikov? A panthers fan was in here earlier and talked about their willingness to deal him. Rumors are that he may be KHL bound and even if he isn't, he may need a change of scenery with a new coaching staff. What would you guys give up knowing all the risk associated with him? |

They have a shot, especially with Datsyuk and Zetterberg out.
For a change, I will attempt to not be sarcastic for 1/2 hour.
I believe that Scott Hartnell, Braydon Coburn, and Niklas Grossmann playing gives the Flyers a better chance to win tonight than if they were not. |

If it was limited to finding terror threats fine... But they are recording every phone conversation. When the goverment starts to leak converstaions of politicians running for ofice because they dont agree with their political ideas, it starts to take on a new complexion. There is a reason Fox quit Wayne Enterprises because of what Bruce made... Its Immoral. |
