Then again, for all we know, Minnesota isn't even really on his radar and he simply wants to SEE the offers he'll get. Afterall, this is his final big UFA payday, I imagine his agent would be chirping in his ear advising he doesn't take the first deal thrown in front of him. - keaner17
Viable as well, but for everyone who is saying it is written in stone that he will attend Minne, they are wrong |

P.A. Parenteau is a healthy scratch for the Avs tonight. Lots of talk that he'll be traded.

Because we are the only team in the NHL that has Snow as the GM and Cappy as the head coach. Just another ridiculous move by our fearless leaders. - Charlie21
Charlie...just like the company I work for... upper management where I work are bunch of freaking a-holes...I got them a deal that would have made them alot of money...they jerked around because it was outside their comfort zone and we lost it...idiots...just like the Islanders... |

Strome I understand, I actually think it may help his game when he comes back. If DeHaan goes down it's a stupid move. The kid has been our best defenseman. Sending him down to me is almost like throwing in the towel and if it's not perceived by management that way it is beyond stupid. - Cptmjl
agreed. You send prospects to the AHL to get playing time, you don't send down arguably your top defenseman and lose him for NHL games when you desperately need points.

Poor bugger. I think they finally realized they shouldn't have given him that much dough.

If de Haan had time with the 1st PP unit all season, and if it wasn't for MacKinnon, he would be in the discussion for Calder nominations.
Kid is already better than Hamonic, and this isn't a knock to Hamonic, that's how smart de Haan is with and without the puck
The Pitt game for example, I remember the last time in Overtime Crosby BURNED de Haan for the GWG.
Similar situation appeared in last weeks game, Crosby 1v1 with de Haan, Crosby attempts a similar move and de Haan bodied him up (which really must have taken a lot of balls for a rookie to do to the best player alive) and stopped him in his tracks, and resulted in a turnover.
Great player who could be a legit top pairing dman in 2 years. |

If you multiply de Haan's hockey IQ by itself, you'll reach half of PAP'a hockey IQ |

The thing is Minny may not have as much cash as one would think
3 RFA (2 key players) this summer will likely receive raises totaling aorund 5-6.5$mill
Yes they lose heatly, but they will need to sign 5 new players also, they too will be around 3 mill
And the next summer they have 5 more RFA, 3 of them key players, Minne will be cap strapped, and if they manage to have them ALL fit under WITH Vanek, then it would be quite amazing.
Simply put, Minne cannot come close to what the Isles can offer, Minne will max out at around 7.25 I believe and even that is hard for them
The Isles still have a shot. - Danformo
I think they have a shot if they plan on making it happen before the trade deadline. |

I can't stand him. Slow, terrible in his own end and just doesn't score enough to justify keeping him in the lineup. Honestly I would rather dress Boulton every night - Vukota
Boulton has been better. CMC had what I thought were a couple good games(and not the whole game) but hasn't found what he had last year yet. Hoping he does we need him to be better right now. Regin I have a hard time trying to figure out WTF he's still doing in the line up. I'd take Boulton over him. |

Lubo coming back doesn't justify it either. That would make our defense all the better if these guys are really trying to win which I question at times? |
