Lets be serious here.....if Vanek walks, Its not the worst thing in the world
JT does have chemistry with him but the reality of it is that he is 2 for 2 on making it work with a left winger. I would love for Vanek to stay, but if we can get a good young goalie to take over the starting job now and maybe a top 4 defensemen......I'd make the trade everytime. This team needs a better defense and goaltender more then a top flight winger. Lets get our priorities straight and trade him at deadline and then try to sign him july 5th

I think Donovan has some good potential but he's been pretty bad. Saturday he was hard too watch.

He's over thinking out there. He may never get over it but if he does he will be on this team.

One thing I will say is this, and I know we have to consider the source and whatever, but....I don't want Miller, unless he signs a new contract before Snow trades for him...which means I don't want him at all. I'd rather move a small combination of assets to a contender for a young guy who is more highly rated/farther along than the goalies we have than to empty the vault to try and outbid someone for Miller...that's just pointless, in my opinion. THAT, to me, unlike the Vanek trade, would be very, very f***ing stupid.

Well I read that the Wild's owner lost a poop ton of money the last 2 years so hopefully that factors in Vanek not resigning there. I think if it comes July 1st and Vanek doesn't sign with Wild he will come back here

regardless, we have to prepare as if he won't come back. If we can get a good goalie prospect/young goalie (ie. Lehner, Andersen, Jones) a good young winger/defender, and a pick, I'd be ok.

If we traded Vanek and he resigned again in the summer, the Isles would be a scary team next season...

I can't see a team contending for the cup(which is what is going to be going for Vanek)giving up a top four Dman or an NHL goalie(guessing you're referring too a prospect hence the "young" part?).

We don't know what we have there yet? We've all played that game far too many times. It's not out of the realm of possibility that only one of those guys works out or worse? We don't know till they play. Don't count your chickens...

I think more often than not he functions off of decent rationale but limited inside info. I find a lot of his comments often miror something I had just said and therefore we're often on the same page with our overall views of the franchise but he's not the type of source you should expect to 'break news' before anyone else is informed.

Yes a young goalie who hopefully is ready to come about and make the jump to be a regular NHL starter, ideally would be best. We've been waiting for a good starting goalie to take the reigns for a long time....probably since DP was healthy
