I just don't think Poulin has it, never saw anything special about him tbh. In all honesty Schneider should be an Islander right now and if we had any other GM in the league he would be here over Clutterbuck.

You can throw some blame towards the GM for not having capable depth at either position. He knew this going in

First let me say this so you guys don't go berserk ... I'm not a fan of Snow and I want an experienced GM. However, I don't think Snow could have anticipated all the injuries to the defense this year. We knew the D was thin, but to lose their three best defenseman made them horrible. Nabby is a different story. There was no way he was going to play more than 60 games this year. I think everyone saw his injuries coming.

My biggest complaint about Snow is that Cappy is still the coach.

You may be right about Poulin. I would not bet against another team turning him into a solid goalie thought. At the end of the day, if the Isles find a long term answer in goal Poulin will be forgotten.

All teams deal with injuries if Brian Strait getting injured is goinf to have this kind of an effect on a teams standing the GM is not doing their job. Snow hung these guys out to dry. It was Strait and Vis at the same time. They weren't deep enough for that. Snow deserves blame for starting the season so thin at D. But he couldn't know he would lose his best defenseman for more than half the season and then see his next top defensemen go down.

If you want to trash Snow for PMB, Regin, Boyes or any of those guys he brought in I'm right there with you. But almost no team can survive losing their best defensemen for a good chunk of the season.
