I agree if he was healthy all year I believe this team will be a lot closer to a spot or in a spot right now. We really missed him. Amac on the power play was dreadful - kasperrko
Yes, injuries to Vis, Strait, Nabby and Hammer killed them. I still blame Cappy. No adjustments whatsoever. At least until last game when he broke up one of the most productive lines. |

Lets face Cappy really has no clue out there. I believe this team runs itself and he is just there for support. I never see him draw up a play I never see him hardly get fired up. He is just a guy behind the bench |

If things really go south, would it be crazy to see what Vish can bring back? - ses111
A fire sale is no way to get Vanek to stay, or come back in July. |

Well said and I agree completely. I feel he is going to have to be moved at the deadline, and hold no ill will towards him. I just hope he returns July 1st. - David_Volek
Vanek Amac 1st= Subban LOL
Vanek resigns July 1. If only dreams came true. Can you imagine. WOW |

I think Vanek is horrible. The only way he is worth keeping is by building a solid blue line behind him because he doesn't play D and and gives more away than welfare. Let's call him welfare for now on |

You can throw some blame towards the GM for not having capable depth at either position. He knew this going in |

I blame the GM for everything, from our assistant coaches to our head coach to our goalie Poulin. With better coaches and a non echl goalie playing starting minutes this team would be in second behind Pittsburgh in the metro. |

I'm not sure trading Vish would be a firesale. Vish will be 38 and is coming off a bad concussion with a year left on his deal. I doubt Vanek will write the Isles off for just trading Vish. |

Injury to Nabby twice is what killed them the most. And Nabby is no superstar goalie anymore either but hes at least average. |

This team will never manage to develop a goaltender if mgmt becomes as impatient as it's fanbase. That's not a comment on the fanbases lack of patience on the team as a whole, but simply goaltenders. I don't care if you put Bernier on the ice, Halak, whoever, this team has too many defensive breakdowns and the margin of error for a goalie is Zilch. You can't develop a goaltender under those circumstances. My money remains on Nilsson and I think unfortunately we'll end up having to let Poulin go without ever having had an environment to succeed in. - keaner17
Two issues, one a team issue, and one an FYI:
- Like it or not, this team, give or take a couple of guys, made the playoffs last year. They deserve a goalie behind them who can stop the puck, and if he has to be a little green, one who at least appears to be improving.
-This team does not seem to have any interest in developing goaltenders. I have a friend who is a season ticket holder, like I am, but one of those who pays a lot for his tickets. For those people, they have various team functions- private events and such. During one of these events, his son had a conversation with Poulin in which he learned the following: Nabokov can't help him, because they play a different style, and Dunham is never around. When asked point blank who helps him, he basically said he learns on his own. Now I don't have context here- I don't know if at the time, he was referring to Bridgeport , or what the specific deal is. However, this could explain why, after nearly half a season of NHL games, he still makes the same mistakes in close and on breakaways, failing to use his size to his advantage, and still can't seem to soften up and swallow a shot. I mean, for crissakes. I could teach him that, so you wonder what the he11 is going on here. |

This is not a surprise at all that Poulin is on his own. He will go elsewhere and another team will have no problem helping him. |
