I get it. And I like Rundblad. But, he's an unproven commodity at this level and Read's a proven 20-goal scorer. It's risky, to say the least. If Rundblad is really not getting used, I'd hope we could get him cheaper. I'd rather do something like Lauridsen and Akeson + 2nd for him.

I get it. And I like Rundblad. But, he's an unproven commodity at this level and Read's a proven 20-goal scorer. It's risky, to say the least. If Rundblad is really not getting used, I'd hope we could get him cheaper. I'd rather do something like Lauridsen and Akeson + 2nd for him.

I think Read for Runblad would be a steal for us. I know everyone likes Read, and I do too, but lets face it, he is a boarderline 2nd-3rd line winger, and he is no longer a deal on the cap for what he contributes.

All of that is true. But, like Gustafsson, he's yet to show what he can do in the NHL. In the AHL, superior skills alone can make you look great. I'm not sure what Elitersein was like when he played there. I just know there's a big difference between the European game/AHL compared to the NHL. If he really were that great, you'd think Tippett would be forced to play him. Again, not saying he's bad, but he's a very unproven commodity who has already been on 3 teams.

I know it's still a long way away, but I'd be thrilled if they got him. I wanted him for the Flyers since I saw him last year, and I had no clue he grew up 5 minutes from where I live.

It's not because he was bad... StL had a changing of the front-office guard (Jarmo K going back to Sweden) and the guys that were left really wanted to pick Tarasenko... Ottawa traded him for a former 3rd-overall pick at a position they desperately needed to fill.

Agreed. Even a conditional pick would be worth it. Find out where he wants to sign, and talk to that team/those teams. Try to get something.
