Right now they are 13, McCann is rising to a possible top 10. Really like his game. But some maybe turned off because he's another center.

Can he play wing effectively? If he is a pure center im not sure I would be that interested.

McCann should be right around where the Flyers pick. That's assuming they remain where they are in the standings.

Another riser is Nikolaj Ehlers of Halifax

Definitely fits the mold of a Flyers draft pick. Good, two-way center with a high degree of awareness.

Maybe, I've only watched him play center.

Interesting. Is there a comparable player to him in the NHL? Im pretty high on Julius Honka but I love me some Finns.

I am as well but I'd like to see him avoid this one. (Josh Morrissey was taken 2 picks after Morin)

Some?

Ugh, no more Centers in the first round for at least two years. I know, I know. Best player available. But we could trade one and still be well off. I really wouldn't mind a skill winger in the 1st this year. From what I've seen the early projections have a ton of wingers in the 1st round this year.

Damn that was a nice hit. He should really be able to avoid that. He is so explosive offensively with his mobility and slap shot that I would love to get him.

To be fair, that hit did take him out of position

I watched a few games in recent weeks, I like his game. Among the mold of the D they need in the mix.

If he's the BPA you take him, regardless of position.

You gotta go BPA. You don't want to miss out on an all star player because you had too many centers.

Also I wanted to pick your brain on this. Ive been hearing that William Nylander is falling. I was wondering if you knew why? I dont see him in the top 5 of any mock drafts anymore and only sometimes in the top 10. He is a player I wish the flyers could get.

How about Conner Bleackley of Red Deer also a center. I was told by a WHL scout he's a dangerous player with good size & great release........having watched I agree

Like many players in this draft he's from what I've been told a selfish player. One I'd probably stay away from that I've watched is Josh HoSang who I think of Nail Yakupov who always wants to do things himself and more often than not forgets he has teammates on the ice. As well as doesn't like to play defense.

But when he does use his teammates he does what he did last night which was 3 goals & an assist.

That is a trait I would like to stay away from, but if he fell to us in the early 20s I would have trouble saying no. I think his upside is high enough that you can take a risk and try and teach him team skills.

At that point I'd look at Adrian Kempe of Modo, I like what I read about him or Ivan Barbashev of Moncton in the QMJHL but if the Russian factor scares you then it could cause a problem.

I've watched the Flyers long enough to know this... if a player we have isn't in the NHL.. and his value is very high... and he has potential to be a solid player at some point...

He will be traded for an aging vet at the trade deadline.

It will happen. I know it. I feel it.

Laughton + Morin for Chara

Everyone cheers. Than Chara suffers a career ending injury right after signing an 8 year 9mil cap hit per contract.. at the age of 35 and 1 day... and we eat his salary with prongers for the next 3/4 of a decade.

Id love Adrian Kempe, but I think he provides a skill set that is already readily available on this team. He is a bulllish forward that drives the net, a classic power forward. Although I like his skill set, im not sure he would be the right fit and that there wont be better options at our pick. I see him going to Detroit (just a shot in the dark).

As for Barbashev, I like his over all ability. He has great vision, incredible playmaking ability, and can snipe with great accuracy, but his inability to sustain consistent effort is a minus. I think that if he shores that up he could end up being one of the better players coming out of the draft. Unfortunately thats easier said than done. Considering this is his second year in the Q im not too worried about the Russian Factor. Despite my praise for him I dont believe the Flyers will draft him. I see him going to the Rangers or Montreal (more shots in the dark).
