You're right, but I do think Pittsburgh has some sandpaper. Just not as much as Boston.

I think with Pittsburgh, they can't get drawn into a physical series and try to match Boston. If they stay with what they do and don't get drawn into some weird "we'll show you we can hit too" kind of series, it'll be pretty even.

But even at that, anyone who plays Boston is going to take some lumps.

this. 100 prcent this. they need to not totally shy away from hitting completely, but they need to realize they cant match boston in that department and win. they are who they are, and will win or lose by that

The toughest thing about Boston is their two-way strength. They've got guys who are very comfortable in all three zones. They're one of the few teams that doesn't have to worry about matching lines with the Pens. Even the Bruins 4th line is solid.

.....and now they are putting chars in front of the net for screens and deflections. Good luck moving him out of the crease!!

i also think he still has a little ways to go before he has hit his ceiling.
- stayinthefnnet

Yup. That team asks him to do a lot. They have one good line and that's it. The rest of their forwards are weak, their defense is weak and their goaltending is weak.

Whats the deal with Sutter. I thought he was developing into a nice third line center.

Were they expecting him to be a shutdown center?

Ah yes... Scratch Mezzy... makes sense... Only 3 defenseman with a positive +/- and 2 of them are scratched.

The other is Timonen.

Schenn 6 points in 50 games and a -8
Grossman 10 points in 52 games and a -11
Coburn 10 points in 53 games and a -6

Mez 15 points in 32 games and a +1... Obviously he's the one who sits after carrying the offensive side of the D on his back for weeks...

Meanwhile Luke Schenn plays like a turd and is a regular in the lineup. He was scratched earlier... didn't get better.. and stayed in the lineup.

Same coach. Same lame ass bullpoop.

Mez is spotted against weaker competition in more favorable zone starts. If Mez were asked to do the things Grossmann and Coburn do, he would be a heavy minus

Boston is built to wear teams down for sure. They will miss Seidenberg come playoff time though, he plays a lot of tough minutes in big games. That being said, I'd have to favor Boston over the Pens in a playoff series, they're just too deep, too disciplined and I'll take Rask over MAF.

hes actually been really good in his own end. but occasionally a goal from the third line would be nice, or to at least control possession and cycle for a few so crosby and malkin can get a breath

Then the guy who replaces him in the lineup and plays worse against the same competition gets to stay in? Doesn't compute to me.

FYI in regards to all that hipster talk earlier. I want to give a big F U to the younger generation. Thanks to you I have a tough time finding pants that aren't skinny legs or whatever the hell you morons wear these days.

They're the ugliest things I've ever seen men and women wear. I see women wear them and I just shake my head with disgust and pity.

They won't miss Seidenberg if we trade them Coburn and a first for Dougie Hamilton.

He probably needs a little help on that line. Only so much depth to go around when you have two high priced top lines.

oh thats exactly it. you know you have depth problems when chris connor going down creates a void.

Maybe the Pens consider trading Depres for a young forward on his ELC. Someone who can hang on the third line for now.

Would you trade Maata for Simmonds and Read? We'd take back salary for the remainder of the year in this trade scenario.

Maybe try unlocking the latch on the cellar. You got to give that girl some fresh air once in a while.
