Big issue with the 'unproven' thing. If we are talking Percy+ or Finn+ or Gagner then absolutely, really stupid idea. But Gardiner is a proven NHL d-man who can still develop into a solid 2/3/4 guy.

He's yet to play a full NHL season, I'm sorry but he hasnt proven anything. He had a great stretch of games 3 years ago and fell off completely until this year. Yes he's for sure an NHL player, that I agree, but he could end up a top pairing All-Star, or he could end up the 6th defensemen on a good team like Nick Leddy

uh, 2 seasons ago, his rookie year he played the full season.
Last season he got concussed before training camps reopenned and then by playoff time was playing 20 plus minutes.
And this season he's top 3 in d-man minutes for the Leafs.

Isles are not trading Nelson Strome Pulock or Reinhart. Already gave up a 1st for vanek. Not trading for miller

I have no idea why the Isles would give up a lot for Miller at this stage? If making the playoffs was so important why is Cappy still the coach? Getting Halak makes sense not Miller.
