Dodger Stadium game: what's the over/under on when it becomes more like water polo than ice hockey? - StLBravesFan

It's going to be around 55-60F by game time, I don't see why it would be an issue. It'll probably be better than UC ice. |

Nothing says hockey more than a game at Dodger Stadium with a temperature of 70 degrees |

Ice may be OK - not sure there's a good seat in the house, tho.
Certainly not in the lower deck. |

I'm trying to come up with a good line to tie the two Brian Wilsons together.

Hates the Olympics. Loves the Stadium series. You sir, are a complex person. I would think they have done some sort of research to ensure the game is playable in these conditions. It is kinda freaky that they are playing beach volleyball next to the rink though. |

Actually not a fan of the outdoor games. Once a year? Sure. Six times in one season? No. I just don't understand why people think it won't work in LA, it's not the fricking Sahara. |

Just caught up on back-reading the past several hours of this thread, and you guys are phucked up! But I'm pissed I missed it! The cool thing - I don't believe I saw Jack Nicholson, which surprised me a bit. And "Hudson three two seven hundred" to all of you (apologies if it was posted and I missed it). Again, what a bunch..... |

I go back to late 50's and early 60's...parents weren't really involved because they felt we were safe..baseball or football all day and then hide and go seek...but when mom called you in you better be within earshot and hear her... - Glenman12
In Chicago in the 60's we use to paint a batters box at Coonly grade schoolIt fast pitching using a baseball like rubber ball. If you connected the ball would leave the school yard. You would get about 10 solid hits before the ball would break in half...game be over untill you buy another ball for a quater at Woolworths. We also played a lot of ledge ball...great game.. I think it was unique to Chicago and still being played in Chicago. Those where the days my friend eating a Twinkie and a quart of Wanzers chocolate milk from the neighborhood candy store all for about 35 cents. |

Da (frank) is ledge ball? you mean pinners? You guys bought the wrong rubber balls. There were two brands. The ones that had major league on them were poop. There was another brand that were the tits. Last forever. |

I can see the point on overkill. I do find the LA one interesting because it is different than the northern games. Once they have played in the good venues from football and baseball I think it will begin to play itself out. |
