If this season is a failure, you have to try to explore how to make this team better in the future bc NO FA will sign here....
Unfortunately the trade route is Snow's only option, unless of course Isles keeping signing scrap heap guys again.....

- Ur Not Me

Even if it's not a total failure, the eye has to be on making this team a juggernaut when it's ready to peak. While Frans has been a very good player and I'm fine if he hangs around, I do think we will see that our centers should be set with JT, Nelson, Strome and Casey. As for the faceoff consideration that dcb brought up, Nelson and Frans are neck and neck in that category and I expect that Brock will get better and better considering his size and skill. I think it's telling that Frans is never used in situational faceoffs.

I like Frans and I know some consider it nonsensical to talk trading him but the guy right now is on pace to overacheive in all offensive categories. With Strome getting better, Nelson arriving, JT set and Casey set, I think this offseason would be a very good time to consider what Frans could bring back.

Frans most useful responsibility is on the penalty kill, but I think Cal, Martin, Grabs and Cizikas have all prooven themselves worthy in that category.

Like I said, I'm not against trading him- I'm against trading him just to move him out of the way for someone else. This team has specific needs, and other than cutting my losses (MacDonald for a pick instead of nothing), I don't want to just trade players for prospects and draft picks anymore, just because I can. That was my only point.

We all agree that Amac is not in the future plans.. So I'm not letting him walk for free.. If I get offered a 2nd round puck I'm taking it.. Remember the the first round pick that snow got for Campoli and Comrie was used to move up and draft DeHaan

Exactly....those are the kind of players you dump for the best draft pick you can get...useless players who you're not going to sign anyway. Nielsen, in contrast, is a quality asset who is not worth moving unless Snow gets someone specific who fills a current need for the NHL roster.

But no one is suggesting to move him for the sake of moving him. However, I do think it'd be wiseto consider him one of the more 'moveable' assets at this point.

Great news! Poulin is playing tonight. Not a great idea for Nabby's 1st game back to be in a freezing outdoor game. That is if Nabby is playing the Ranger game.

From what I read the other day, it seemed like Nabokov was a little bit farther away from being ready, so I don't know if he even makes it on Wednesday.

No idea why he is even backing up then? Nilsson and Donovan have been sent down according to Staple.

Islanders mangement are a bunch of idiots..Nabby has been hurt twice so far this year due to a groin injury... the temps for Wednesday night are a high of 25 and a low of 10 degrees...common sense would be to play him Friday night at MSG...

That's better than what I saw? Hopefully you're right. I'm going shopping for my arctic outfit tonight for that game. Did they say they planned on playing Nabby?

Nabokov not concerned with outdoor game being his 1st back from injury. "I'm Russian, you know." #Isles #Nabby

IDK, maybe it's for the better? Might be a little much for Poulin though Nabby hasn't exactly proved he's great under pressure

I'm thinking Amac will be traded (thank god)
Vanek will get us a goalie prospect/young tender, a winger, and pick
Im still hoping Vanek resigns in the offseason, Staples and Gallof both say don't count him out even if he is traded.

Also it may have been staple but he thinks Poulin will be traded in the offseason in a package, if that's the case I could also see donovan in that package now with the emergence of de haan.

I don't care if he was born in Ice Station Zebra he's old! It could be in the low teens at game time with wicked windchills...

Eh, I'm more worried about Mick's bad mojo than the temp.

If he can ride the bench, then he's ready to play. Shouldn't be an issue.
