I think the Flames will retain as much of Cammalleri's salary as possible and sell to Anahiem for their 1st round pick and Emerson Etem. Anahiem has 2 first rnd and 2 second rnd picks for the 2014 draft so they might be looking to top up their scoring especially on their #2 PP and I think Cammalleri fits into that. Etem is 6.0' and 194 and is a RW which I think the Flames are in need on the right side.

I thought ANA could be another as well. I think k they also could have interest in Wideman since I read they were looking at Girard because they want an experienced right shot Dman. Team is a left shot. I think I would like to have Noesen and a 1st. Maybe just their 2 1sts.

If the Flames somehow managed to wrangle Mantha for Cammy I think it would be straight up.....hell, the Flames might even have to sweeten the pot.

But I do like your thinking....especially with this years underwhelming draft class.

I'm good with it being straight up, or sweetening. Part of the sweetening is retaining his salary. I'd also consider taking a bad contract back. Can always buy it out once we have it.

I also kind of like the Anaheim option with Etem and one of Anaheim's 1st rounders. I'm from Medicine Hat and watched Etem play here in junior. The kid can be a monster.

Your probably right although with a lean draft class and the way the Ducks are built to make a run now (Selanne's last year too) I could see maybe squeezing out their 1st round pick which looks like it could be 29th or 30th overall. Cammalleri for the 60th overall pick would be very disappointing unless it came with a blue chip prospect.
