For Mantha I don't think we'd need the first. For Frk we'd want the first too. |

im guessing they would only give up a Mantha(in a package) if a star like Weber became available not for Cammalleri type player.
im keen to hang onto the youth considering how tatar, jurco, shehan, etc. have played better then the vets. but, as they say, you have to give up something to get something |

Another trade that makes sence in my armchair GM brain is:
Butler (Calgary retaining as much salary as possible)
3rd rnd pick
FOR
Boston Bruins:
Joe Morrow
It fills their Left Handed depth D-man need and Calgary gets a good prospect.
OR
Butler (Calgary retaining as much salary as possible)
5th rnd pick
FOR
Boston Bruins:
Matt Fraser
Matt Fraser sounds like the type of player Mr. Burke wants to start aquiring and its sounds like he might even have some top 6 potential so maybe that works too. |

pretty sure the Canadiens would have no interest in Mike Cammalleri.

You'd be surprised as to how many people have came up with reasons which he would/could end up there and it has expanded over twitter...I see zero chance of this, but theres some Montreal media folk who think otherwise |

No...imo, it will be a first and C-B prospect, or 2nd and B-A prospect |

I'd pull the trigger on the Matt Fraser deal. What's up with Morrow? If he's a good prospect why is he being dealt around so much?
Also, would retaining salary really be necessary? Butler only has a 1.7 million contract, doesn't really save you much. I'd rather us retain some bigger contracts that could really pay off for us, such as; Cammy, Wideman, Stempniak, and Hudler (only for awesome return) |

I think that he has just found himself in organizations that are either set up with defensive prospects/ young D-men like Pittsburgh or in a situation where he was needed as a piece to a trade puzzle like in Dallas where he was needed to sweeten the pot for the Seguin deal. Boston has quite a few young defensive players/prospects so that's why I think he might be acquirable. |

I thought ANA could be another as well. I think k they also could have interest in Wideman since I read they were looking at Girard because they want an experienced right shot Dman. Team is a left shot. I think I would like to have Noesen and a 1st. Maybe just their 2 1sts. - TandA4Flames
Any GM that trades 2 1sts for Wideman is gonna get grilled for years. He's a good 2nd pairing d-man and PP player, but that's a steep price. |

Well both trades do look fair, and I could see Burke having interest in both of those players...as long as we don't give up anything higher than a 3rd rounder in our trades (at least until draft order is sorted) I would be alright with that. |

You really shouldn't listen to Tony Marinaro Colin. There is no chance Cammy come back for a 2nd stint. It's pretty clear since the begin of December that this team is too small and lack leadership. Also, if there is a move to be made i dearly hope it will be one to strenghten our blueline. |
