okay. be bold. I have two for you.
gagner, nurse, petry, 2015 1st to the Peg.
ladd, big buff to edmonton.
yakupov, hemsky, n.shultz to washington.
brouwer, erat, alzner, 1st to edmonton.
don't worry about the cap. mac t can figure that part out. he's a genius. - therealagent
Let's see. EDM turns into
Hall-RNH-Eberle
Perron-Ladd-???
Brouwer-Gordon-Erat
Gazdic-Arco-Hendricks/Smyth
Alzner-Buff
Ference-J Schultz
Belov-Marincin/N Schultz
I guess that's pretty good. Good F depth. Pretty top heavy D though and a hole at 2RW. That second pairing is weak while J Schultz is still growing.
Don't know how the cap works |

I think the rebuild is behind, but only by a year. We are better off trying to get solid pieces at free agency the next 2 summers and then making a push. We don't have the depth in assets to stock up through trades, yet. - Jeropotato
you won't get ufa's unless the team wins. people will fear the ference curse.
my money's on him going back to boston. |

If they like money, UFAs will sign wherever the dollars are offered. Come on now. |

How about putting Buf on first line, Ebs 2nd, then get a D in free agency, unless we make another trade. |

You don't want to overpay though. Clarkson is overpaid in TO and was widely report Edmonton offered more. Thats not good. |

Props to Oilers fans for the bumper stickers and billboard signs. This is not making your team a laughing stock. Shows you have passion for your team. It would be worse if you just sat on your hands and did nothing. It's your team. You buy the gear and pay for tickets. |

Don't care about Ekblad. I want to trade that pick to get the assets we need.
Plus, in terms of the narrative of the rebuild, it's pleasingly ironic that the Oilers problems would be remedied by some other GM buying into potential and giving up too much. |

I really think Byfuglien needs to be a target.
He's on the outs with his franchise, is very very underrated, and does many of the things we need in a minute-eating defender.
Yeah, I know, "eating" |

wouldn't say horrid. wouldn't say great.
Marco roy was impressive in the pre season and rookie camps. Saying this as someone who hated the pick and wanted Carrier or Comrie.
Musil sucks. Could be a #6 Dman. Maybe
Moroz was because of Katz obsession with the oil kings. Still has a small chance at being a 3rd/4th line PF. Bad pick though
Pitlick could be on EDM's 3rd line tomorrow. Marincin has been surprisingly really good. Curtis Hamilton can't stay healthy long enough to judge how good he is.
Lander's still trying to find his way, but not out of the realm of possibility that he could still be a good 3rd/4th liner
Their previous 2nd rounder was Petry who turned out quite well. - TheNugeIsHuge
I hope they turn out but until they produce at the Nhl level, it means nothing. And some guys should've been given a look by now if they had what it takes.
There are guys to this day who light up the ahl and other leagues who will never play in the nhl cuz they have massive flaws or holes |

Holy Sht! That was a lousy blog Garner. What a bunch of horsesh1t! listening to TSN the other day one of the "in the know types basically said "the President of Hockey Operation position is essentially the GM now...and the GM is the Assistant GM.
Besides all of that I would dearly love to watch Lowe just get sacked for all his incompetence. Period! Where else can somebody bungle a job so badly and still walk around with impunity like he has other than Oilerville and your world. Ridiculous!
And yes sometimes the bad guy has to get "tuned up" now and then. Just as a reminder.....so If everyone watching the game from the Oiler perspective wanted to see Gazz pummel Kassian except you, feel free to go for a piss while it's happening.

I'm really not sure how you would consider turning your back on Ekblad. And to want Byfuglien...? Yeah, I would take him if the price was right but I wouldn't part with what's required to get him. You've come this far with losing, see this season thru and take the pick

There's an argument for that, so in a certain way I won't be more disappointed if they pick Ekblad or anything.
I just feel as though this is a golden opportunity to trade down, picking up major assets and while perhaps giving up the best player in the long run, making our team immediately better and solid in the long-run. |

what you suggested with trading down is the only idea i would consider for edm. otherwise to completely give up a 1st round pick for a d-man signed to only 2-3 years is a loss. |

Imagine if we were to draft Ekblad while still working out a deal to get Big Buff. That would benefit both Nurse and Ekblad so much in their development.
Mind you, Eakins would have to make sure Buff isn't showing those boys how to sneak big macs onto the bench |

In a few years, Byfgulien, Ekblad, Klefbom, Marincin, Schultz, Petry, Ference would be a very very solid D core.
At what cost though? |

At the cost of BOLD moves!
I believe everyone that isn't Nurse, Eberle, Hall, Nugent-Hopkins, Petry and Perron to a certain extent should all be in play. It's difficult to come up with valid and reasonable possibilities that make our dream a reality. |

Yesterday tsn panel all suggested Mact t takes a "big gulp" and trade Ebs. Ward, biron, and dreger voted. I think the options were 1. Stay put 2. Trade 1st pick 3. Trade yak 4. Take a big gulp and trade Ebs. |

It's not allowed. I have his jersey and it must remain as a valid jersey!
Plus, Ward, Biron and Dredger are all stupid. Not as stupid as some of the other guys they have on TSN, but still stupid. I'm pretty sure the return for Eberle has to be pretty substantial. I have a feeling he isn't going anywheres. |

Kassian is beyond classless, and has no (frank)ing balls whatsoever, I'd be (frank)ing embarrassed if that piece of poop was on my team. Breaks a guys jaw swinging his stick around like a (frank)ing retard, then he wants to mock the guy after the fact, and then too much of a (frank)ing little wussy to back up his talk. He should be (frank)ing embarrassed at how much of a classless little (frank)ing wussy he is, and Vancouver fans should be embarrassed about cheering for this (frank)ing loser. |
