He's been suspended twice this season for checks to the head. Total amounts to 13 games.

Sounds like a loose cannon.

This his first pro season? Why is he in the KHL? The league is a step below the AHL with a few elite players like Lilly Kovalchuk.

Nothing has changed on the current roster with the trade. 29 is NOT old and Klein plays 20 minutes a game. How is that bottom paired? KK may bump Stralman down, or at the very elast, make Moore more comfortable and improve his overall game; thus making MDZ expendable.

You wanna bump Stralman down, the 2nd most consistent D-man on this team season for a guy who has 3 points this year?

4th pro season. Two seasons with CSKA Moskva and the two past seasons with Lokomotiv. Can't find any contract info though.

This season he has played 18 min a game to DZ's 17 min. I do not think KK should bump Stralman down which leaves him as the 3rd pair Dman, albeit a better one than DZ for THIS team. The hope HAS to be he is steady and reliable and allows Moore's game to take off. If it does, its a HUGE win for us as Moore has those offensive tools.

yeah, if it comes down to Stralman not here anymore next year, then I could see Klein moving up to be Staal's partner next year.

But in the immediate future, I definitely see the Moore-Klein pairing unless there's an injury

Whether its 3rd pair or 2nd pair, what I think would be most beneficial is having three pairs that AV is comfortable with so that Girardi and McDonagh's ice time doesn't have to be 25 minutes plus a night. That was obviously keep them fresher.

it honestly doesn't matter which one plays with staal and which one with moore but I am very confident that moore is gonna find his game back and make us all say again he could be as good as Mcd one day

MDZ had a whopping 11 points this season and he is supposed to be an offensive D-man.

Stralman has a HUGE 4 assists all year. Where, yes, he is consistant, he is also a UFA-to-be and may not return. ( though I'd really like to resign him).

KK is a Defensive D-man. Is by far more physical than MDZ and Stralman combined.

If anything, this sure-up the Ranger D a bit. Though it may take him a game or two to adjust, he is a sure upgrade defensively from MDZ.

John Moore will never, ever become Ryan Mcdonagh. Ryan Mcdonagh is a top 10 defensmen, the like the which the Rangers haven't seen since Brian Leetch.

Overall, no chance. Skating & offense I think he could.

I like Stralman and he's been a absolute find but if there is someone who can provide more offense consistently out there via free agency or trade during the offseason I'd be OK with moving on, IMO pairing him with Moore 5 on 5 doesn't help Moore, Klein would allow him to skate a little more, no pun intended

The best offensive D-man that's slated to become a ufa as of right now is 37 year old Dan Boyle.

speaking of Flyers, I think Dan Boyle will probably get a deal this summer like what they gave Mark Streit

I have made my feelings on Stralman pretty known. I think he is our most underrated and under appreciated D man. Other than McD I honestly think he has been our most consistent D man. I would venture to say during our horrible start this year he was actually our best D man. Would love to have him come back next year, but I understand its all about the $.

the deal, not Dan Boyle. But paying him till he's 42 is just not possible for the Rangers.

You said he'd develop into a top 20 offensive dman. On a team that makes the Rangers look like the 2014 Rangers...

I think the Stralman issue is pretty clear cut actually. It will take, IMO, a minimum of three years/$9 million to re-sign him. I think they are going to re-sign Girardi around the $5.5 million mark long term, so if they do that, and re-sign Stralman to something similar to the term above, that gives you three right handed shots tied in long term, which is not good news for Dylan McIlrath.

I think it is 50/50 Stralman's back next year. I think the Rangers will be interested in bringing him back, but I don't think they will overpay.

True, hindsight is 20/20, the Fowler one is probably the most glaring though. I think everyone was like wtf!

Can't over think the draft. Just take the best player.
