i think the leafs winning their last 6 is evidence enough that point percentage doesnt mean much

a mere 6 games ago toronto was on pace for 83-84 points

now they are on pace for 93 points

thats why point percentage doesnt do much for me.. one lil hot or cold streak throws it out the window

In reality it's games over .500 that matters. Percentages assume that you'll stay at that percentage. If your team isn't pushing towards 10-12 games above .500 (higher in the West) then you aren't going to be watching them in the post season.
