Orr = insurance policy
nothing more.
remember when the leafs didnt have a tough guy in the lineup? they were pathetic and were pushed around all the time.
how soon people forget. - Dozzer
very true, always loved a tough team. Leafs play much better when they are bullying other teams around. Just having orr and mclaren in the lineup does deter people running our players. |

Only 6 wins in a row?
I wont be happy until they hit 12 in a row.

well both is a tad overkill unless you are playing another tough team like boston.
but one.. even if his arse is parked on the bench for most of the night.. is handy.. as soon as someone starts to take liberties.. tap him on the back and give him a shift.. even if a fight doesnt happen.. it usually reminds the opposition who they are (frank)ing with. |

Meh maybe.
People arent fighting Orr.....and if they arent fighting Orr....why have him in the line up? The Leafs need depth, having a goon line.....is not what they need. They need tough guys that can score or create scoring plays.
If Orr can pick up his game, great...but I dont see that happening. |

I rather McLaren over Orr. Love watching him play against Boston, I think he enjoys being out there while Chara is, which is kind of a rare occurrence but I notice him running Chara a lot. |

it's still a mental thing. People aren't fighting him because not many fighters are in his class right now. He 'makes all the leafs a little bigger' when he is in the lineup as the saying goes. Him orr mclaren playing 3 minutes a game are more effective than another 4th line guy playing 3 minutes that can't fight.
Against washington when we had those fights it felt like last year, the leafs were the toughest team in the league and it definately matters (although plugs like damien cox claim it doesn't - funny since he has never played hockey in his life). |

Yupp I agree. Would still like to see a 4th of D'amigo-McClement-Bodie when everyone is back and healthy. Unless we do play Boston or another physical team insert in McLaren. |

nah.. i still want at least one of orr or mcclaren in every game
the other guys skate bigger when one of them is in the line up.. it isnt all about stats.. having one of those two in the lineup is a positive mentally for the rest of the guys.
having him play 5mins a night makes the other guys more confident.. 100% worth it. |
