very very very wrong
do you guys just make this crap up or do you actually bother with research? - Dozzer
I count 10 teams that use what I would call an enforcer - designated fighter who fits the role you describe for Orr.
So, yes I do actually bother with research. Sorry that it doesn't support your opinion.

not bad....
I think we way need a better 2nd liner. I put kuli there cause of kadri and lupuls female dog defense.

nooooot a bad team. A few pieces here at there. But our core is strong.
I hope Clarkson can find a way to step up his game. I think he will. Not this year. Rough start, suspensions/injuries/everyone chirping him saying we (frank)ed up signing him (lol at us saying that when the guy truly wants to be a leaf and bring a cup home, Leafs are the king of bad contracts, and its a done deal so everyone should STFU about it now and move forward) but I've seen players struggle like this before and come out strong the year after |

Sure it is...I'm curious. Do you think it's a good idea for Chara to fight Scott? I would think Scott would take that fight any day. - Woderwick
I don't think anyone really wants to fight Chara.
The guy stiff arms you and basically nothing you can do after that while eating his otherarms punches. Chara is too big! |

I think the risk is too great for Chara. Arguably one of the best defenders in the league who could get tagged by a guy who made very short work of Thornton the last time they fought, and by someone who is completely expendable and has little to lose. I doubt Chara takes that risk. But I'd like to see it if it happened. - Woderwick
be a good bout. Chara is a tough hombre. |

Here is my take on the raging goon debate.
Under RW the Leafs were abused and pushed around. Teams took way too many liberties in scrums after the whistles, or cheap shots while players were changing.
RC came in, put both Orr and McClaren in the lineup, and preached team toughness. Last season other teams seemed to take this a challenge, and Orr and McClaren took care of business to let them know otherwise.
This season, teams are taking a different approach, and not engaging the tough guys. But guess what, the cheap shots and scrums have also stopped. If you replace Orr or McClaren with the likes of Ashton/Damigo/Bodie...the antics will eventually start again...maybe not right away, but they will. |

Trade up to get Ekblad maybe?
Either Ekblad or Reinhart are good picks though. - Aetherial
Only downside of Reinhart, is he's another forward in their sysem where they will have no D or Goalies, and he'll become an "untouchable" on the roster of untouchables |

I think gunner has played well enough to remain on the top pairing...I still think its too early to give up on franson, unless we are getting a Girardi type back.
personally I'd just like them to pick up a steady d-man that can be paired with Rielly/Gardiner. |

I have a question about our road record, I heard them say it was even at .500. 10-10-4 is actually 10 wins 14 losses right?
24 pts in 24 games ok i got it |

Drafting Ekblad changes nothing. A defenseman like that is 5 years from being an impact player. the Oilers dont have the time to continue sit and be Terrible while waiting for a dman to maybe be the player that need now.

true.... but the argument is.... that when the antics start back up, we should send a chara out to fight. thats what he is best suited for, even though he is quite functional at defence, it'd be much better if he was the functional enforcer in the penalty box. |

I honestly see that pick being bundled up with one of our much talked about "untouchables" to bring in someone real. If they draft Reinhart and use him as part of it, then so be it.
Just because they won't get buttraped in a trade doesn't mean guys are untouchable. So sick of hearing this song. You guys wouldn't have traded Kadri for whatever, but Edmonton should grab their ankles just because people think they should. Its aggravating. |

the question you need to ask when it comes to Franson is do you think he is worth 4 million plus?
cause he has arbitration rights this summer.. and based on his point production he will get 4 easy. especially after DP signed for 7. |

Why bother.
Let them go plant some wild orchids and hug a kangaroo.
You cant convince somebody to change their mind when all they do is listen to what the media tells them. |
