IMO the biggest reason why we have let so many goals in recently is the man in the cage. Ive been watchin the pens a lot over his career and he just doesn't look the same, hasn't since his collapse in the play offs the year b4 last.

I just watch for fun, so I would assume that shero and other people that get paid to watch, have noticed this as well, my bet is we go for a goalie that just wants to win a cup and a bottom 6 forward. so which team has both of these and needs defense? BUFFALO

Can't argue the decline in his save %. Ill make the excuse about the injuries in front of him. Hopefully he picks it back up

yeah but you can only use the injury excuse for so long, a struggling goalie is a struggling goalie no matter which way u spin it.

I wish I could delete my last post, it showed how little I know about hockey. I did learn something though, there's no cap in the playoffs because the players don't get payed for playoffs only bonuses. (I realize you all knew this ) yep I'm an idiot

I wouldn't mind Shero trading for Mike Richards. He's only. 28, can play wing and center, kill penalties, go on pp and has an affordable contract for the next handful of years. I think Depres and Sutter could make that trade work. Plus look who Sutter would be playing for.

Not a chance the kings trade him they can hardly score with him they need more forwards.

You never know. If Sutter 's uncle finds out that his nephew is being offered to the team, it could possibly happen. Remember LA is defense first then offense. Both Depres and Brandon bring that to the table , along with a little scoring touch as well. Plus I've heard they are probably going to make a play for Vanek or Moulson this offseason; so they will have to clear cap space some how.

They would be willing to give up more assets to the islanders or sabers for them to eat some money and both clubs would gladly do it.

Pathetic excuse....
Interesting that the Pens fancy themselves a Cup Contender....
How many Cup Contenders have lost the season series to Florida, and also lost games to the Islanders and Oilers, blowing 3rd period leads in each of those games? I guarantee you wont find Boston, LA, Chicago on that list, nor will you find Anaheim or St Louis.....

It sucks that you can't win the Cup without going 82-0 in the regular season.

I'm guessing that with multiple losses to Calgary, and with losses to Buffalo & Winnipeg, the LA Kings are going to have to pack it in and be sellers at the deadline. They obviously aren't Cup Contenders.

Game day. Last time we played Montreal Suban and Plekanic were all over Crosby. No one stepped in and I almost kicked my tv. Hopefully someone on this roster has the testicular fortitude tonight to not let that happen again. Can't blame those 2 it was a very good tactic. Had him off his game that night.

The difference being is that at worst, NJ is mediocre. Florida is far worse than NJ, and even that said, NJ didnt destroy St Louis twice in the same season.
Bad games happen to all teams, but when poor play is becoming a repeated pattern--especially when the regulars are coming back--that has to be what alarms Pens fans most.

To me, the Pens didn't take Florida seriously. Florida has actually been pretty competent since their coaching change. If you don't take an NHL team seriously, you'll lose.

I think there is cause for some concern with the way they've played over the last few weeks. They've been winning some games that they didn't deserve. The defensive effort has been pretty bad.

Also, that bottom 6 is as bad as I can remember. There's virtually no chance those guys are chipping in on the score sheet. Good teams need some contribution from the bottom 6.

No, not really. Got plenty in real life to worry about. New players need to mesh, no need to panic.

I hope we win tonight because I have a really bad feeling about tomorrow. The Isles will crush us if we play the way we have the last handful of games, so will Montreal for that matter.

Tavares is only 6 points back of Sid now, who only has 1 point in his last 3 games. A month ago it didn't look like he'd be challenged at all. Still winning games, but not getting many style points doing it. Time to get it going.

The schedule gets pretty brutal after the Olympic break. Some of those "cupcake" games suddenly look a lot harder considering some bottom feeders are playing better hockey.

Not a time to play crappy D.

The Penguins are 15-4-1 in their last 20. If they can win 75% of their games with poor play, i'll be interested in seeing them play a good game.

I don't mind playing tougher competition as we near the playoffs. Especially if we still have a big lead. But yea, March is going to be a female dog. Could lose alot of ground if we're not playing good hockey.
