The Pens are clearly a top team in the East, if not the top, but thanks for giving the Panthers some credit in your blog. Obviously, the Penguins played a little flat being off all that time and getting guys back from injury but they did have some quality chances that Clemmenson made some quality stops on. Panthers PP is probably the worst I have seen in a long time, if not the worst. They are a good, young team that when on their game have shown they can play with any team 5 on 5. Their main crutch is they are inconsistent and the aforementioned PP woes. It was a fun game to watch as a Panthers fan.

Alot of us expected a loss last night ... days off and the fact the Panthers always manage to bring the worst out of us for some reason. We have a rougher time with the Panthers in the regular season than the Bruins it seems. Your boys work hard. As a Denver grad, it was nice to see Drew Shore play. Too bad it was at the expense of my team.

Don't get too high on Nisky, I have heard from a very reliable source that he is on his way back to Dallas for Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin.

That made me laugh.

players on LTIR can come back at anytime because they are already on the roster. lingering free agents must be signed by the trade deadline.

Is Zatkoff subject to waivers if sent down due to # of games being up with the big club?

If Capgeek's waiver calculator works right, he is subject to waivers. Too many professional seasons.

Is that two games in row that the Penguins have given up a shorty?

Careless and sloppy....

With the game in Philly tonight postponed it got me thinking...

How much snow do you think it would take for them to postpone a game in Calgary or Edmonton?

Well they cancel it when the travel becomes to dangerous for fans. In Edmonton I don't know if that even exists. For the most part we as Albertans have some semblance of an idea of when roads are too dangerous for travel.

For me, I have a Jeep Wrangler now so snow isn't the issue. Hell I cruise around my acreage in 4x4 creating trails for the dogs to wonder around on. It's when we get the skating rink like roads that I get concerned but even then it is more because I don't want to get smoked by Johnny City-boy who still believes he can drive like it's July.

Thought you guys just ice skated to work anyways? Move to Pittsburgh when it snows people act like they've never seen it before and drive 5 miles an hour. Same with the rain. I think it either rains or snows something like 310 days a year here.

Pathetic excuse....
Interesting that the Pens fancy themselves a Cup Contender....
How many Cup Contenders have lost the season series to Florida, and also lost games to the Islanders and Oilers, blowing 3rd period leads in each of those games? I guarantee you wont find Boston, LA, Chicago on that list, nor will you find Anaheim or St Louis.....

It is not a coincidence that the Pens GAA skyrocketed since Letang's return. He was a time bomb waiting to happen during last year's playoffs.... Has his trade value dropped so low that Shero cant get maximum value for him anymore? This guy has huge potential, but has not come close to reaching the tip of that in the last 2 seasons. When do the Pens cut their losses and try to get the most for his value while they still can?

It must absolute suck so bad that you have to suffer by watching the top team in the East. I feel your pain.

Love to hear that Vokoun is skating tomorrow , that would be great to have him back. That means Shero won't have to waste assets on another goaltender for the playoffs. As for the cap , on what date does the cap go away ? Is it before the end of the season ? Maybe wait to bring him back until that date then let him play a few games ? Would be ideal but not sure when that date is.

IMO the biggest reason why we have let so many goals in recently is the man in the cage. Ive been watchin the pens a lot over his career and he just doesn't look the same, hasn't since his collapse in the play offs the year b4 last.

I just watch for fun, so I would assume that shero and other people that get paid to watch, have noticed this as well, my bet is we go for a goalie that just wants to win a cup and a bottom 6 forward. so which team has both of these and needs defense? BUFFALO
