You forgot trading Grossmann for a 2nd round pick. Then having the fans wonder why our defense allows so many goals in front of the net.
- PhillySportsGuy

It's probably Couturier's fault, he's a bust.

haha in life.

i do think on the flyers he may be a bit redundant, with him and luke schenn (and to a lesser extent coburn) all being fairly similar.

- stayinthefnnet

He would be if Schenn were any kind of consistent. He is incredibly unreliable. Plus, they have no better options. Especially, for the money Grossmann makes.

you guys may not lose that trade that badly
- stayinthefnnet

Well, that is the goal of every GM, to only SLIGHTLY lose on every trade.

Well he only has 37 points. Crosby was scoring much more at this point in his career.

Grossmann and Akeson for Crosby? Actually, you guys might have to up that offer for Art Ross Akeson.
- jmatchett383

I STEADFASTLY REFUSE to trade Akeson.

"Man, remember back when we had a good defenseman who blocked shots? We need another guy like Luke Richardson."

Actually, we do.

The goal they allowed today was scored, in part, because Grossmann left Tavares alone at the edge of the crease.

That's because you are the voice of reason, and understand that a 1-dimensional player with no speed is a critical piece of any dynasty.

nah. crosby is a big whiny girl who hit a glove once before, thus declaring his childish mentality and lack of leadership for all time. he'd never be embraced in philly, because this town likes its superstars to be hardnosed guys.

i do think art ross akeson has a good ring to it though

He also stood there and watched Tavares get off two shots from the same spot later in the second period.

i agree with that. i understand you have a good deal invested in luke based on what you gave up, and he is young still so he may grow. but all things considered, id rank grossmann higher due to his reliability and lesser contract. luke would be the one i deem superfluous.

Seriously speaking though... I do hope he can get some playing time at this level if not with this team some garbage team in the NHL somewhere.

How much would it suck to only play 1 NHL game? i guess it's better than none, and he did score so that's a nice memory.

Two 2nds and Grossmann for Dennis Wideman.

Our defense goes from gross to wide.
