Unless a team loses a goalie to injury, it could be a two horse race for Miller and that might push up the price to acquire him, ya never know. If the Av's lose Varlamov or the Wild lose Backstrom to injury, I could see those teams getting in the mix but I think at this point he's St. Louis bound.
- mhp

Didn't they drop the charges on Varly to a lessor offense?

Edit: Dismissed the charges

I think Miller goes to Caps. McPhee cant miss out on him. They literally have no goalies that are def. #1. St. Louis will offer lower hoping they have enough.

Marcus Johansson, a 2nd Round Pick in '14, and a Conditional 2nd Round Pick in '15 (Becomes 1st if Miller re-signs).

I'm not sure if the Caps would want to trade Johansson, esp if they lose Garbo to free agency. Losing Forsberg and Johnasson is a tough pill to swallow imo. And I doubt they would want to trade Burakovsky. My guess is one of their goalies would have to come back in return as part of the trade. Murray could play hard ball with them.

Peyton Manning's voice sounds just like Tom Hanks. When he's shouting "Omaha" at the line of scrimmage I swear I'm watching Private Ryan.

I hope we get something good for Miller. But he is a proven playoff failure. He can barely even make the playoffs, let alone win a playoff series. There is a reason he hasn't been moved already, and re-signing him would be a big mistake. Miller had his 10 years to do something and it is time to move on to a new era of Buffalo Sabres hockey. Lets just hope a desperate team will overpay for him.

No team trading for Miller is gonna give up a key roster player
Look for prospects & picks in return

Those 3 come to mind for me also
Maybe two of them plus a conditional pick if miller resigns?

St. Louis: Rattie and a 2015 2nd for Miller. We eat half salary and the Blues would need to trade Halak to make a fit under their cap.

Wash: Wilson and a 2015 1st. Again, we need to eat half of Miller's salary and not sure even that would fit under their cap.

In the end, a prospect and a pick is fair trade value imo and chances are better than 50/50 that Miller would re-sign in St. Louis, probably a bit less in Washington.

Not sure I would say he's a proven playoff failure. Been to the playoffs four times with two of those being to the Conference Finals. The last time we were in the playoff he almost single handedly beat Philly and that was with massive injuries up front, I think our first line centre was Gastaud for half the series.

He couldn't get the best team in the eastern conference to the finals in 2007. He gave up 5 goals in game 6 of the Philly series. Enroth actually got us into the playoffs that year or he might not even have gotten the chance to play in that series. The Miller is great debate could go on forever, but the bottom line is: Why is he even here? 10 years, three playoff appearances. I give the one to Enroth because he did get us in and it would have been up in the air if Miller was in net.

Minnesota could be a dark horse
They have the prospects to make it happen
We could take Backstrom back and eat half Miller's salary to make it work with the cap
They're 8th right now with Phoenix on their heels (another dark horse)
Plus, with Pommer there... And fellow teamUSA guys in Suter & Parise... Miller would prob re-sign
And they'd still have $$$ to get Vanek in the offseason!
