Andrew Ladd should be the next Sabrs captain.
The 6'2", 27 yr old, 2-way centerman would look really nice on a line with Ott & Moulson for the next 4 years.
Send Myers, Grigorenko, and a 2nd rd pick to Wpg for Andrew Ladd. - SuperCat
You're crazy. It wouldnt be a 2nd round pick, it'd be our 1st this year. No way WPG makes that trade unless we include the 1st.
C'mon, man. |

Sure that's enough?
Maybe add Hodgson & Armia and our next two 1st rounders
I like Ladd... A LOT
and I know he wouldn't come cheap... But whoa buddy!
You're giving up way too much |

Think about it...
Ladd is a leader you can build around, ready to do so from day one. Myers can't land him alone.
Grigorenko is a longer term project than anybody thought. He's due at least a yr in the AHL, maybe more. And even then he probably still won't fit the Teddy Nolan mold good enough to get big minutes... And with the frustration he showed us before reporting to juniors garners a possible jump to the KHL a threat.
So the second round pick seals the deal. And the Sabres have the chips to play.
Sorry. But your not going to snatch another team's captain, the heart of their team, for a case of Gatorade. |

I like Ladd but.............
that entire Jet team quit on their coach, tuned him out completely vs the blue jackets in that last game
second line player on a team to compete, nothing more, nothing less

Patrice Bergeron is a second line center.
So was Chris Drury in his Sabres heyday.
Yet these types of players are critical to winning recipes.
If we could end up with a 1a/1b center combo with Ladd & Reinhart, the fans in Buffalo will have good reason to be optimistic.

if they want to turn it around, he fills a slot on the second line for 5 years
no dispute there
problem is the team needs 2-3 spots on the first line (3 if they do not sign moulson), and IMO only coho is a second line player on a team built to compete for the cup
I have never seen a worse top six from the sabres, cept for the hasek years when satan was hung out to dry with dom |

He's overrated. They aren't struggling because Kesler's missing a few stitchings on the top left side (or top right?) of his jersey. They're underachieving because they no longer have the depth they once had that pushed them over the top. Too much money locked up into to few players. |

I think Kesler is the perfect second line player that can fit on the top pp and kill penalties.
They overpaid their D and let the bottom 2 lines suffer from it though, plus Burrows/Booth is killing them cap wise

Patrice Bergeron shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Ladd.
As far as stealing someone's captain.... The Jets are a mess, and they are talented, he obviously isn't too great of a leader. [/img] |

If you were to acquire Ladd.. unrealistic.. AND Callahan.. unrealistic.. THEN, I would love the makeup of our team.. unrealistic. |
