That double hit on Murzyn and (the other Canuck) is one of my all-time favorites.

You know what this team is missing... hitting. They miss players like the old Mike Richards. They need to replace the 4th line with guys that can doll out physical punishment.

ftfy

I said this before he was traded, that his game was fading..he was less engaged physically and his offense was regressing...

No way, that's a totally fine package. Nashville doesn't have the $$ to pay him.

Okay, maybe we'll take 2 of those picks back, and give them Voracek, B Schenn, Meszaros, and MAB.

Think that will get it done? Seems like a fair deal. They can't possible pay him that amount of $$.

It would be a horrible idea to trade Schenn, he is just now starting to show his potential. But just like other young players we have had in the past that are natural centers they need to play wing until the Vets are old and gone. Vinny needs to be our #2 center. He is still a world class player in my opinion and we are throwing him on a line with Couturier or on the 4th and expecting him to produce offense. Couturier has nothing special in his offensive game as of yet. Great along the boards and responsible defensively but we are really handcuffing Vinny by putting him as the 3rd line winger. The lines should be as follows, Raffl isnt working anymore with the top line.....

Schenn-Giroux-Voracek
Hartnell-Lecavalier-Simmonds
Read-Couts-Downie
Raffl-Hall-Rinaldo

Im even in favor of a Hartnell-Giroux-Simmonds line.... they do so well on the PP

Put Schenn-Lecavalier-Voracek together..... see what happens. We only have 1 line going for the past 3 weeks. Thats a problem

He's one of the few dmen I actually would move B Schenn and/or 1st-round picks for... kid is already awesome, plus he's on an ELC for the next couple of seasons. Really don't think Poile is stupid enough to move him, though. Weber + Jones is a pretty strong backbone for any team to build around.

If its me, Luke Schenn is gone in the off-season, and Grossmann is the one kept around.

I'm just past Gustafsson myself to be honest. Maybe a 3rd pairing guy in the future. Can agree to disagree.

- flyer_nutter

Puzzling thing with L. Schenn is he played pretty well last year. He shouldn't be regressing at this stage of his career.

Probably only the DiMaio and Ulfie ones. Although, as much as I hate Domi, no one should ever get suspended for hitting Ulfie. The Matvichuk one is funny because he threw the first sucker punch, then got absolutely decked.

I was wondering around Goodwill waiting for my car to get worked on, and I saw a $15 kids Lindros jersey. I was tempted to buy it for my girl, but figured she wouldn't know who Lindros was.

He is my all-time favorite player, when he was healthy and in his prime, no doubt in my mind he is one of the top 5 talents this league has ever seen. Too bad he couldnt stay healthy. This current flyers team could really use a Lindros, way way better than Giroux. I keep waiting to see the old Giroux, he's just a perimeter player now............. It would be nice to see Giroux have a winger like most other top centers have. Voracek is good and all but he is no Perry, Kane, St.Louis, Sedin, etc. etc. etc. No wonder guys like Stamkos and Getzlaf put up so many points..... Need a winger, we all saw what Giroux and Jagr could do together.

Its kind of weird, out of all the years where they could probably afford injuries, to give the younger kids more of a chance to play they are relatively healthy as a team.

I don't remember the last year there were this few injuries, and just for fun before I head out, the D-core I would be in favour of next year is the following. Not realistic for what the team will probably do but so be it.

Gardiner-Coburn
Grossmann-Meszaros (lets see how he does for Olympics, rest of the year)
Timonen-Lauridsen

I think Mez has a 0.0 percent chance of being back on this team next year.

As for Gus, I don't think anyone has seen enough to say "yup, he's done". I think he needs to see more of the ice before that determination is made. It's not like Gus is Luke Schenn, who despite being only 24, over 350 NHL games under his belt.

I actually think Mez is finding his game again and he has been looking pretty good as of late. I would take him for a reduced price based on his injury history.

I liked the goal that tied the game too, but you can pin the first Nashville goal on Mez as well.

Mez is a 3rd pairing guy, at best. A KHL talent at this stage of his career, at worst.

Well 3rd pairing it is. He had a +30 one year as a 3rd pair guy. I'll take that, Just not at 4 mill a season.

I wont disagree, but again.. there is nothing glorious about the guy. He is a PB&J at a 5 star french restaurant.

He gets the job done though. He had a tough year with injuries and what not last season, and the first 8 games of this season were not very pretty, but since then he is scoring at 60 point pace.

problem is we have too many 3rd pairing guys on this team
we need to evaluate what top pair guys are available this off season and adjust accordingly

if he keeps improving, one year prove yourself contract for cheap. the list of free agents isn't appealing to me.

Hartnell has been the good Hartnell for a while

maybe he should have sat out last night after being hobbled, blocking that shot

how crazy is it that Hartnell B Schenn and Simmonds has really been their best line lately

Hartnell together with Simmonds just sounds like a fail, given they both kind of bring the same skills to the line
